Tucker Carlson has been called out by a pro-Ukraine protester during an event in Brisbane.

The former Fox News host, currently on a speaking tour in Australia, was confronted by activist Drew Pavlou on Saturday while speaking at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

Mr Pavlou stood up in front of the large crowd, pulled a Ukrainian flag from his pants, and shouted: 'Save Ukraine,' before telling Carlson to 'stop licking Putin's a**e'.

Carlson replied: 'These Ukrainian flag people, how many Ukrainians have died in the last two and a half years?'

An audience member interjected: 'Too many!'

Mr Pavlou said he protested Carlson's event because he was against the commentator's views on the Russian-Ukraine war

Mr Carlson then started laughing manically, before attempting to mock Mr Pavlou for supporting Ukraine: 'Oh, I love Ukraine so much. How about some more war?'

Mr Pavlou was escorted out of the venue by security and was later fined $928 by Queensland Police.

In February 2024, Carlson became the first Western journalist to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

The controversial commentator has also defended President Putin, claiming the war in Ukraine was a 'border dispute' and that America should cut multi-billion dollar aid packages to Kyiv.

A fundraiser created by Mr Pavlou's friend raised the total amount of the protester's $928 fine within 30 minutes. The remaining money raised was donated to the Defend Ukraine Appeal

Mr Pavlou shared his motivations behind interrupting Carlson's tour in a YouTube video shared on Sunday.

'Tucker has spent years demonising Ukrainians, demonising the Ukrainians as they fight back against the Russian invasion,' Mr Pavlou claimed.

'He's very clearly wants Russia to prevail in Ukraine and subjugate the country. He wants millions of Ukrainians to live under Russian domination.

'Millions of Ukrainians would be killed should Russia prevail in Ukraine and this is fundamentally what Tucker wants for the country and that's why I wanted to protest him.'

A fundraiser created by Mr Pavlou's friend titled 'Tucker Carlson Stop Licking Putin's A**e' raised the total amount of the protester's $928 fine within 30 minutes.

The remaining money raised was donated to the Defend Ukraine Appeal.
