The former taekwondo champion is known for his comedy, commentary and massive podcast
While known for his work as a commentator, podcaster, and stand-up comedian, Rogan is no stranger to martial arts.
The New Jersey native took up karate at 14 and taekwondo a year later. At 19, Rogan won the US Open Championship taekwondo tournament as a lightweight and eventually became an instructor in the discipline.
Rogan also competed in amateur kickboxing and held a 2-1 record before retiring when he was 21 due to frequent headaches and a fear of injuries.
In the post, Rogan claimed that he was unable to kick for a year due to a knee injury, but he recovered with the help of healthcare company Ways2Well.
'I went without kicking for a whole year to deal with a knee injury and thanks to @ways2well it's now 100% pain free,' Rogan captioned. 'The video of me hitting that bag was yesterday, and in the past if I did that the next day my knee would be sore, but today I feel absolutely perfect.'
'That bag is 130 pounds and the amount of torque generated by kicking full blast is just insane. It's one of my favorite things to do and the best way ever to release stress, but before @ways2well it felt like every time I did it it just fucked my knee up more. I can't thank them enough.'
