One of the UFC's most colourful characters, Jamahal Hill, will have the eyes of the world on him this Saturday night.
UFC 300, the tricentennial anniversary, is a landmark in the MMA (mixed martial arts) promotion's history and few would have predicted Hill to be one half of the main event against fearsome champion Alex Pereira.
The 32-year-old American is immensely talented inside the cage, of that there's no doubt, but of late it has been his life away from the cage that draws attention to him.
Hill juggles the demands of being a professional athlete at the top of his game with an incredibly busy family life.
He is a doting father to six children, ranging from five to 17 years old and regularly shares pictures of them on his Instagram, which has 354,000 followers. No doubt that number will rise with a big performance on the grandest of stages in Las Vegas this weekend.

Hill is understood to be in a relationship with Adaire Byerly who describes herself as a 'combat personality, analyst, podcast host and model' and the pair often post entertaining skit videos online.
The UFC star's brood are not exactly in awe of the success of their fighting father and he previously spoke about how they keep him humble.
'Honestly, they don't really care,' he said in an interview with the UFC.
'I tell other people all the time - I'll be out and everybody's like, "Oh, UFC," all this and that, and my kids are just like, "I want something to drink; can you get me some juice or something?" They bring me back to reality real quick.'
Hill, who became UFC champion by beating Glover Teixeira last January but had to relinquish the belt due to injury, takes the family approach to his training too, keeping a close-knit circle.
He explained: 'That's what it is - they got me here. I'm the type of person where I ain't looking for all these extra little fixes that's not there. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
'There's been guys that were doing well on our team, they left and now they can't catch a win to save their life.
'I'm gonna stick with the people that know me, that know what I like, that know what I like to do, and I know they have my best interests at heart. I feel like you grow with the people that know you.'

But unfortunately it was family at the heart of Hill hitting the headlines for unsavoury reasons last year.
In December he was arrested for allegedly assaulting his own brother and charged with one count of misdemeanor aggravated domestic violence.
The alleged attack on his brother was so violent that he knocked out his sibling's tooth, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Mail Sport at the time.
The alleged victim, James Hill Jr., told officers at a Kentwood, Michigan hospital that Jamahal assaulted him on November 25.
The UFC fighter allegedly knocked down his brother twice – each time using only a single punch – and when the conflict was over, James was missing a tooth and had a 'very swollen' left eye.
According to court documents, officials allege that he assaulted his brother James Anthony Hill Jr and inflicted 'serious or aggravated injury upon him.'
At the time, Hill defended himself in a video, saying: 'I just can't wait for the truth to be told in court and I will wait for that day and I look forward to that day,' he said.

'The people who know me and know my character and truly, truly rock with me and know who I am, hold on to that and stay true to that and yeah, that's all I'm gonna say on that.'
MMA Fighting later obtained a report from Kentwood Police Department with details of the nature of the row.
They wrote that Hill had an agreement for James and his wife to clean Jamahal’s house for $300 (£250), which had been left vacant and without electricity, causing food to spoil. The argument started at 7pm 'about the house being cleaned' and 'other family matters' before — according to the alleged victim — Hill 'took off his shirt and got in his face'. The alleged victim then said he was knocked to the ground.
The police report went on to add that James said he stood back up when his wife tried to stand between the pair, before Jamahal 'reached around and punched James in the face again causing him to fall and become dazed.'
According to TMZ Sports, last month Hill was offered a deal which included the ability to plead guilty to a less serious domestic violence charge in exchange for removing the aggravated domestic violence one. It is not yet known whether Hill accepted the bargain.
The incident has not deterred Hill from forging a way back in his career having been sidelined from competition with a ruptured Achilles he suffered playing basketball supposedly in a game with other fighters.
What kind of condition Hill will be in when he returns to action on the biggest stage remains to be seen, though some fans have poked fun at his physique in recent videos he's shared online.

In one, he demonstrated a tongue-in-cheek look at the different approaches fighters take when being announced, acting out 'stretching', 'The holla back' and 'the shadow boxer', among others.
One fan wrote: 'Hope my guy can make weight this weekend!' Another added: 'Bro you gotta get rid of that belly you fighting next week.'
And another cruelly remarked: 'They might not be able to wrap the belt around that belly.'
Hill and his other half Byerly work on a fighting-based podcast called 'War Council' together and she has previously outlined her career experiences in explosive detail.
Last year she wrote: 'Career-wise, I've made it through fashion, considered to be the most brutal industry. I've made it through show business, a cut-throat secretly perverted world full of power moves.

The former model described her career experiences in explosive detail
'I've been a target of sex trafficking, had my career dangled in front of me, been critiqued from head to toe and I've been in business rooms with heavy hitters that could buy my life in a moment.
'Celebrities, multi-millionaires, producers, organised crime leaders, exclusive parties, the s*** you see in movies, I've seen in real life.'
She went on to add: 'Personal life: I've experienced death, murder, house raids, abuse, street crime, divorce, being broke and being betrayed. Don't let the school girl curls and modelling photos fool you. This is a game I know how to play VERY well. You are sadly mistaken if you think I can't handle myself in this fight game or sports entertainment. I've been strategising and fighting most of my life.'
Hill, often in combination with Byerly, has a better grasp of self-promotion than many fighters in the UFC and will be desperate to make the most of an unprecedented opportunity for exposure this weekend.

With six mouths to feed, there's the obvious financial benefit to headlining such a prestigious card, too.
His life away from the cage, particularly over the last 12 months has appeared from the outside to be complex and distracting.
But if he can shut out the noise and shut up the online critics, he'll elevate himself to a whole stratosphere of stardom with the final say at UFC 300.
