The party for Hollywood-backed Wrexham carried on this weekend as they basked in their promotion to League One, with the squad enjoying a team meal following their stunning feat.

Saturday's thumping 6-0 win over Forest Green saw the Welsh outfit ensure promotion to English football's third tier for the first time in 19 years, sparking wild scenes at their he SToK Cae Ras ground.

And that jubilance continued 24 hours later as the Hollywood-backed outfit by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney visited a local restaurant to toast their achievement.

All smiles at independent restaurant and bar The Fat Boar, players and staff were in unison as they posed for a photograph there - which the establishment accompanied on X with the caption: 'Winners get dinners & beers x.'

With plenty of beverages on show in that team photo, the celebrations soon became merry as they enjoyed each other's company as well as that of other fans at the same restaurant.

Wrexham goalkeeper Mark Howard was filmed with one fan drinking a Jager bomb while toasting to 'Up the f***ing Reds' before light-heartedly declaring their promotion intent to the Championship next season.

In another photo, star striker Paul Mullin can be seen orchestrating celebrations on a bar stool and singing while being filmed by the majority in attendance.

Fat Boar uploaded an image of that moment alongside the caption: 'Same time next year? Nos da x' as they hope Wrexham can achieve a third-straight promotion.

Sunday's scenes topped off an unforgettable weekend for the club as Hollywood star owners Reynolds and McElhenney revelled in their second-successive promotion

Deadpool star Reynolds said on X: 'A few years ago, if you told me I would be crying tears of joy over a football match taking place in north Wales, you would be Rob McElhenney. Congrats to Wrexham and to my co-chairman in crime. Double up the town! This is the ride of our lives.'

McElhenney wrote simply: 'No words,' with a love heart emoji.

The pair's takeover in February 2021 has contributed to worldwide attention for the club.

Wrexham needed to both beat Forest Green and see MK Dons and Barrow drop points in order to secure automatic promotion to League One with two rounds to go.

Delighted fans ignored a warning from the club and invaded the pitch after the match

Wrexham's win was never in doubt as the team was 4-0 up at halftime.

MK Dons wasted an early lead in losing at home against Mansfield 4-1, while Barrow lost to Gillingham 3-0.

That sparked mass celebrations at Wrexham as fans ran onto the field after the final whistle, despite pre-game warnings from the club urging them to stay in the stands.

Wrexham is second in League Two, four points behind leader Stockport, which also clinched promotion on Saturday.

The top three teams are automatically promoted to League One, and fourth-placed MK Dons can no longer catch Wrexham.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson was full of praise for his team, who won the National League title last season.

He said: 'I'm immensely proud of the lads today because, if you look at the Tuesday performance (a 4-1 win over Crawley) and today, when it mattered most we've put in our two best performances of the season.

'It's never easy with Forest Green's low block making it difficult, but it was important we showed that we'd learned from when we played them last time and I think some of our football was of a very high standard today.

'I came into the game not expecting other results to go our way, I think that's the best way to approach it.

'It wasn't until about two minutes to go when my son George, who's our analyst, gave me the rundown and obviously then you know it's a done deal. I'm just so pleased.

'It's a great achievement for everybody connected with the club, it really is.

'There is a lot of hard work that goes on behind the scenes, it really is a team effort at Wrexham, everybody pulls together and I have to include the supporters in that because, home and away, they've been absolutely magnificent for us. They've stayed with us, kept the faith and the belief and they've got their rewards today.'

Wrexham fans took to social media to express their delight at the feat and express gratitude to the Hollywood owners.

Mail Sport's Nathan Salt wrote on X:' One of the best things about Wrexham’s promotion is it hasn’t been a one-man show, it’s needed everyone.

'Elliot Lee carried the goals for months, Fletcher’s late winners, Cannon, Cleworth, Mendy, Barnett, Palmer, Evans, Young, Bolton, so many contributions'.

'Just finished my breakfast and cracked a beer. Cheers to this team, to Parky and crew, to the Askwxm fam, to MYCR, to the town of Wrexham, to Rob and Ryan!!!!! I love you all!!!', another fan added.

A third fan said: 'There’s so much to say. Right now, just thank you. Unbelievable day for the town and long time fans who fought so hard to preserve this for us. Enjoy this day, wherever you are. We’re seeing something incredible happen'.
