US pilot ejects from F-16 fighter jet moments before plane crashes into Yellow Sea off South Korean coast

A US F-16 fighter jet has crashed into the Yellow Sea off of the Korean Peninsula and the pilot was ejected from the plane, according to Yonhap News. 

The jet crashed into the water on Monday after it took off from the US air base in Gunsan, South Korea, approximately 111 miles from Seoul. 

It is unclear if the pilot has been rescued and US officials in South Korea could not be immediately reached for comment.
