A-List power couple list their gorgeous West Village townhouse for $10M

An A-list couple has listed their long-time West Village townhouse for just under $10million. 

Actors Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy listed their New York City home for $9.75million - a home they lived in for 12 years. 

They first bought the Downing Street property when Danes was pregnant with their first son and have since welcomed more children into the home, according to The New York Times. 

The family of five are moving to have more space, but they plan on staying downtown, Real Estate Agent, Tamer Howard, told The Times. 

The Homeland actress and the Hannibal star modernized the four-bedroom, 4.5-bath Greek Revival home and rooted it in Danes' childhood memories, the outlet reported. 

'It’s been incredibly well modernized, while still preserving its original West Village charm,' Howard. 'It’s a really happy, romantic, special place.'

'Upon entering, you'll be enchanted by the home's original charm, seamlessly modernized with thoughtful updates,' she said in the listing.  

Danes wanted the home to have loft characteristics as she 'grew up in lofts,' according to Joan Krevlin, founding partner of BKSK Architects, who worked with the actress to fulfill her dreams. 

'The home they were choosing to make was a townhouse, intentionally, but there were characteristics of a loft that were very important to her,' the architect said. 

The home earned an American Architecture Prize for Interior Design, according to the listing. 

As part of the remodel, the kitchen was moved from the front of the house to the back, according to The Times. 

A glass wall was also installed that leads to one of the outdoor spaces and the kitchen ceiling was replaced with glass blocks that also serve as the floor to the upstairs terrace, the outlet said. 

New homeowners will be bathed in plenty of natural light, and will have access to three outdoor spaces where they can enjoy being near three of the most popular Manhattan neighborhoods - West and Greenwich Villages and SoHo. 

The quaint home has a picture-perfect exterior with dark wood and a bright red door that leads up into a brick townhouse. 

The inside of the home feels bright and airy with mainly all-white walls and earth-toned furniture that leaves homeowners with a tranquil feeling. 

There's plenty of space to whip up a large family meal in the kitchen, but don't spill anything as the counters, cabinets, and fridge are gleaming white. The stove front is always white, but the hood and backsplash are stainless steel. 

It has a dark floor and enough room for a small table.  

An office area is located off the living room and features similar shelving to the kitchen. 

A retractable door can also been pulled to create a closed-off space for privacy. 

The home also has a small bookshelf that features a bar area and a sink. 

Off the living room is an outdoor area that features a canopied table with a booth. 

All the bedrooms are spacious, especially by New York standards, including that one easily fits two full-sized beds.

The master bathroom features a fireplace, a standalone tub, a seating area, and a large vanity-style sink. 

New homeowners will also have rooftop access - a gold standard by city means - that includes benches and tables for seating and lots of greenery. 

It also features a small grill, a large island with a built-in cooler, and a sink for optimal entertainment. 

The basement features a large closet, a laundry room, as well as, a wine cellar.
