A student at Apalachee High School recorded a rap tribute to his beloved algebra teacher, who was one of four people gunned down in a mass shooting at the Georgia school.

Isaac Sanguma, 16, attended Apalachee High School and was there when alleged gunman Colt Gray, 14, opened fire in the school on September 4.

One of the victims was 53-year-old algebra teacher Cristina Irimie, who died trying to save a student, her relative told ANF.

Sanguma said he didn't want her name to be lost to history.

Instead, he created the song Forever Irimie and posted a teaser on TikTok that gained over 2.6milion likes.

The heartwarming tribute is a song of sorrow about what happened that day, in memory of his favorite teacher.

'Won't see Ms. Irimie for a while, man I can't cope with this trauma,' Sanguma raps in the clip. 'Can't break down, I know Ms. Irimie want me to go harder.'

Irimie was described as beloved teacher with a 'big heart' who brought a cake to the school to celebrate her birthday with students on the day she was killed, ANF reported.

That compassion touched Sanguma, who wrote in his post that he met Irimie his freshman year when she was working as a substitute teacher.

He regretted being rude to her during that time and apologized for his behavior during his junior year. He said the teacher immediately accepted his apology.

'Ms. Irimie never made me feel ashamed of myself," Sanguma recalled. 'She understood that I got kicked out of school my freshman year over petty little referrals and never wrote me up for coming to class late or having my phone out.'

The song Forever Irimie is scheduled to be released this Friday

Irimie would pull the student aside for pep talks after their class ended, he explained. He said the last day he saw her, she had 'the fattest smile on her face with her little dimples,' requesting that Sanguma come to class on time and asking if he was okay.

Sanguma said he was apprehensive about releasing the song because he didn't want people to feel that he was doing this for himself, ANF reported.

After recognizing that music is his form of therapy, he felt compelled to express himself.

The 16-year-old has been writing and recording music for seven years.

He invited all students to join him for his music video shoot on September 14 at the high school, and was seen filming part of the video at a memorial in front of the school.

Forever Irimie is scheduled to be released this Friday on Spotify.
