Ben Affleck is seen for the first time since ex Jennifer Lopez was pictured holding hands with his BFF Matt Damon - as he enjoys a ride in LA

Ben Affleck was spotted going for a ride in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, four days after his estranged wife Jennifer Lopez was seen holding hands with his pal Matt Damon.

The Batman star, 52, sported a pair of black aviator sunglasses and rocked a smattering of facial hair for the ride. 

Affleck — who has reportedly been left 'humiliated' by his divorce from Lopez, 55 — wore a grey jacket and a lilac shirt underneath, and looked to be in good spirits behind the wheel. 

It comes after eyebrows were raised when Lopez and Damon, 53, were spotted holding hands during a private moment at the after party for the premiere of Unstoppable, held at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday night.

The Jenny From the Block singer and the Bourne Identity star had their heads close together and looked serious as they engaged in a reported 20 minute conversation. 

Later it was reported that Matt refused to talk to Jennifer about Ben at the bash, with sources claiming the actor made it clear that he will 'always have Ben's back.'

Lopez was said to be keen to talk to Damon about her estranged husband in the wake of their divorce, but Damon was reportedly 'not having any of it.'

'Matt shut down any attempt that JLo made to discuss Ben at the premiere,' an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.

'It was her timing that was so awkward because she would have known that pulling Matt aside at the event to have an intimate talk was going to get picked up and go viral.'

The source continued: 'Her whole hand on his hand was a nice touch - but he was not having any of it.'

'He told her he is glad she is doing well and is thankful for her participation in the film - but he made it clear he was not there to talk about Ben at all.'

At one point, the pair were sat together at the corner of the party and Lopez had her hand on Damon's while he bowed his head as if in prayer.

Despite how fans have interpreted the images, the insider insisted that Damon 'was not "praying" with her' and that he stressed that he would 'always have Ben's back no matter what.'

Lopez turned heads in a disco ball-inspired revenge dress for the event, marking her first red carpet since filing for divorce from Affleck on August 20. The date marked exactly two years since they tied the knot at his Georgia mansion.

Damon and Affleck are producers on Unstoppable - a sports drama about Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and goes on to become a champion wrestler in college - but Affleck opted to stay home rather than risk a very public run-in with his ex on the red carpet.

Earlier on Tuesday insiders claimed that Affleck was left 'humiliated' as his short-lived marriage to Lopez crumbled, but he was supported through an emotional breakdown by Matt.

Affleck reportedly broke down in tears to Damon, telling his best friend that he was 'jealous' of his lifestyle - having successfully quit smoking - and of his stable marriage to Luciana Barroso, with whom he has three daughters.

'Ben is particularly vulnerable and feels humiliated after his failed marriage to JLo,' an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively. 'He broke down in tears and told Matt he’s jealous of him and his lifestyle.'

'He told Matt he has everything he wants - a nearly 20-year happy marriage and children who live with him. He admitted he’s chosen the wrong path in life so many times while he’s seen Matt take the right road over and over again.'

The source added: ‘He told Matt if he could hibernate right now he would.’

Rumors of trouble in Affleck’s marriage surfaced earlier this year when he went 47 days without being pictured with Lopez.

Speculation was then exacerbated when she flew solo at the premiere of her film Atlas, before pulling the plug on her tour to spend time with her family.

The couple then spent the summer apart, with Affleck a no-show at his wife’s lavish Bridgerton-themed birthday bash in August.

News of their divorce finally broke last month when Lopez filed for divorce.

Lopez and Affleck were famously engaged in the early 2000s before breaking up, only to reunite - and later marry - in July 2022, before holding another ceremony one month later.

Their initial two-year romance was highly publicized and the intense scrutiny on their relationship was difficult for the couple to handle.

Speaking in her music documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, she said: 'Ben and I broke up three days before our wedding and we crumbled under the pressure. You think you're doing ok so you shrug it off.'

While navigating their reconciliation, two-time Oscar winner Affleck admitted he had zero interest in becoming a fixture on his wife's social media accounts.

'Getting back together, I said, "Listen, one of the things I don't want is a relationship on social media,"' the actor recalled.

'Then I sort of realized it's not a fair thing to ask. It's sort of like, you're gonna marry a boat captain and you go, "Well, I don't like the water."'

He continued: 'We're just two people with different kinds of approaches trying to learn to compromise.'

Lopez acknowledged Affleck's discomfort, telling viewers: 'I don't think [Ben] is very comfortable with me doing all of this. But he loves me, he knows I'm an artist, and he's gonna support me in every way he can.'

DailyMail.com previously reported how Damon was concerned about their rekindling, and had warned Affleck that a split 'could happen.'

'Matt was there to help Ben get it together after their first split and he felt like this would happen again,' the source said.

Affleck and Damon have been friends for over 40 years, having broke onto the scene in a big way in 1997, winning the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Good Will Hunting.

The close pals still have another flick to promote with Lopez in the coming months - a movie musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman, in which she is also a co-producer.
