Chrissy Teigen tearfully reveals why she's sharing her abortion story with Kamala Harris

Vice President Kamala Harris had a conversation with model Chrissy Teigen at the White House about abortion rights on Thursday at an event that quickly drew tears.

Teigen praised the vice president and the Biden campaign for making abortion rights an important part of their reelection campaign and not shying away from sharing stories of women struggling with new limits on abortions after the Supreme Court overturned Roe V. Wade.

'Sharing all of these stories and humanizing this taboo subject is really an important thing,' Teigen said.

Teigen tearfully shared her experience of having an abortion at the Feminist Women’s Health Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Anthony Fauci gets praised as 'classy' by fawning 'The View' host Whoopi Goldberg

Dr. Anthony Fauci was lavishly praised by the hosts of ABC's 'The View' Thursday while he makes the rounds promoting his new book.

Host Whoopi Goldberg gushed over Fauci, the former White House chief medical adviser, calling him 'one of the classiest' people in Washington, D.C.

'Thank you for coming on the show and everything, everything you've done from the very beginning,' Goldberg said to a glowing and smiling Fauci, who was cheered by the audience. 'It's extraordinary and you're no worse for the wear, you look good.'

Goldberg continued: 'You are probably one of the classiest people I've ever watched move around in Washington, D.C.'

'I just want to raise my dreads to you,' Goldberg said holding up her hair in salute.

Possible Trump VP pick Tim Scott accuses Biden of 'pandering' to black voters

Tim Scott, the Republican South Carolina senator, said the Democratic Party is 'losing its mind' and is 'pandering' to black voters, but it isn't working.

Scott told Fox News:

Their race-based coalition, race-baiting to keep the votes…it is crumbling before their very eyes. African-Americans, Hispanics, White folks, Asians are coming together supporting Donald Trump because a closed, secured southern border means less migrant crime in poor neighborhoods. It means more open schools across our nation.
The crime that's devastating inner cities under blue mayors goes away with Donald Trump. He will restore law and order.

Scott is among several possible contenders to be Trump's running mate.

Billionaire philanthropist Melinda French Gates endorses Joe Biden

Melinda French Gates backed Joe Biden as she issued a presidential endorsement for the first time.

The billiionaire philanthropist, who divorced Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates in 2021, did not immediately promise any money.

In an op-ed for CNN she wrote:

I’ve never endorsed a presidential candidate before. My work on gender equality and global health often requires me to work with leaders on both sides of the aisle, so I’ve avoided talking publicly about who I voted for in past elections. But this year is different.

Race between ultra-conservative Trump foe Bob Good and John McGuire for US House seat in Virginia still too close to call

Virginia Rep. Bob Good asked voters for 'patience from the people of the 5th District over the coming weeks' as ballots are still being counted from his contentious primary against John McGuire on Tuesday.

The race was less than 300 votes apart on Thursday. It pitted the right-wing Freedom Caucus chairman against a state senator and January 6 rally attendee who has the backing of both Donald Trump and many establishment Republicans.

McGuire had urged voters to give him a margin that is 'too big to rig,' but doesn't appear to have gotten that.

Good wrote on X on Thursday: 'Everyone should want a fair and accurate count of every legal vote that reflects the intent of the legitimate participating voters of the 5th District. We are fighting to ensure that is true.'

Trump has admitted what he did wrong during the 2020 debates

Is former President Donald Trump becoming more self-aware?

The New York Times' Maggie Haberman said on CNN Wednesday night that Trump has told people that he realizes he interrupted now President Joe Biden too much during their September 2020 face-off on the debate stage in Cleveland.

That debate was memorable for Trump talking over Biden, sparring with Chris Wallace - and the possibility that Trump was positive with COVID-19.

Haberman detailed how Trump is prepping for next Thursday's CNN debate against Biden in Atlanta.

Trump classified documents judge 'refused requests to step aside'

Judge Aileen Cannon, who is overseeing Donald Trump's classified documents case, was reportedly asked by senior colleagues to consider stepping aside from the case when it was assigned to her.

Two federal judges in Florida asked her to consider if it would be better to give the case to another more experienced trial judge, the New York Times reported.

Cannon, who was appointed by Trump, declined to do so.

The judge has since faced criticism over the slow pace of the case.

Democrats have carried Minnesota for the last dozen presidential elections, sometimes winning by the narrowest of margins. Trump and Biden are tied at 45 in the latest Emerson College / The Hill poll.

Things are nearly as tight in Pennsylvania, a state Biden has visited repeatedly as president, with Trump leading Biden 47 to 45.

In a major midwest battleground that Biden carried four years ago, Trump leads 47 to 44 in Wisconsin, which is preparing to play host to the Republican National Convention.

Van Jones claims President Joe Biden's election chances hinge on the presidential debate with Donald Trump next Thursday, and if he 'messes up' it's 'game over'.

The CNN political commentator told Jim Acosta the stakes are huge for the 81-year-old who is trying to combat concerns about his age and gaffes.

If he slips up, Jones says it could cost him very dearly.

This is the entire election, as far as I’m concerned. The entire world will be watching. If you are a carbon-based life form, you’re going to be watching.
If you’ve got a functioning brain stem, you’re going to be watching. Because, if Biden goes out there and messes up, it’s game over.
If he walks out there, and a week later he’s lower in the polls, it’s panic in the party.
But if he goes in there and he can handle himself against Donald Trump — a runaway train, a locomotive, a raging bull — then this guy deserves another shot to be president, because that is tough

REVEALED: Who will get the final say in the debate between Trump and Biden after CNN flipped a coin to decide podium placement

A coin flip has been carried out to see who will stand at which podium for the first presidential debate on June 27.

The Biden campaign had picked tails for the flip, which came up.

The president's team chose the podium that will will be on the right side of TV screens. Donald Trump will be on the left.

It meant Trump’s campaign team was given the chance to choose the order of closing statements.

They chose for Trump to give his closing statement after Biden's, meaning the Republican will have the final word.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. doesn't qualify for next week's debate

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy did not qualify for next week's CNN presidential debate, the network said Thursday.

To qualify, candidates had to receive 15 percent or more support in four separate national polls and appear on enough states' ballots to be able to amass 270 Electoral College votes.

President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump satisfied the requirements and will appear at the debate in Atlanta next Thursday.

Kennedy's campaign said Tuesday that he had qualified to be on the ballot in nine states, totaling 144 Electoral College votes, but had gathered enough signatures to be on an additional 14 states' ballots.

He fell short on the polling requirement too - only receiving more than 15 percent support in three qualifying national polls.

U.S. Supreme Court won't upend tax on Americans' foreign earnings

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled against a challenge to a tax on Americans who have invested in certain foreign corporations.

It issued the decision at a time when some Democrat lawmakers are seeking to impose a wealth tax on the super rich.

The justices, in a 7-2 ruling, upheld a lower court's decision against Charles and Kathleen Moore - a retired couple from Redmond, Washington - who challenged the tax on foreign company earnings.

Biden heads to Camp David tonight for debate prep

President Joe Biden heads to Camp David tonight to lock himself in the secluded, mountain resort with his advisers to prepare for next week’s debate.

With the showdown one week away, Biden, who likes briefing books and practice sessions, will be focused on how to hold rival Donald Trump accountable on issues like abortion rights.

He’s also expected to practice some verbal zingers to sling at his rival.

But the 81-year-old president will be under pressure to combat concerns about his age. The Trump campaign has pummelled him about recent incidents showing him freezing or having to be guided off stage. The White House claims the videos are edited to make the president look bad.

Ron Klain, Biden's former chief of staff, is leading the debate preparations for the Biden team. White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients, senior White House advisers Bruce, Reed, Anita Dunn and Mike Donilon and campaign adviser Cedric Richmond will also be on hand.

Biden will travel to the rustic retreat in the Maryland mountains from his beach house in Rehoboth, Delaware, where he spent the Juneteenth holiday.

Supreme Court will issue decisions at 10 a.m. ET

With 22 cases left to be decided this term, the Supreme Court will issue decisions Thursday and Friday this week.

One of the major cases that could be determined is about whether presidents have total immunity from prosecution over actions taken while in office.

The outcome in Trump v. United States will be monumental and could determine if the ex-president is on trial again - this time for his alleged attempt to overthrow the 2020 election - before the November election.

Another case yet to be decided is Fischer v. United States, which deals with some of the charges against the January 6 Capitol rioters and Donald Trump himself.

The court will rule on whether or not defendants can be charged with obstructing an official proceeding.

As a result, the court could upend hundreds of cases stemming from the January 6 riot, including Donald Trump's election fraud trial.

Joe Biden gets bad news from female voters

An analysis of polls by the New York Times shows Joe Biden has the lowest support among women for any Democrat since 2004.

He leads Donald Trump among women by eight points.

But that is five points down from the 13 point lead Biden held four years ago.

The newspaper took an average of 30 polls over the last six months.

Trump holds a double-digit lead with men.
