Cher has admitted she was 'p***ed off' when she first met boyfriend Alexander Edwards as she shared a candid insight into the early days of their romance.

The Believe hitmaker, 77, has been dating the music executive, 37, since November 2022, and during her latest interview she opened up about how she first fell for him over text message.

While appearing on Amelia Dimoldenberg's YouTube series Chicken Shop Date, Cher admitted she did 'not fall in love quickly'.

She said: 'No not at all. I left to go to Switzerland and he text me and he said, "Where are you going?" and I said, "I'm going to Switzerland, I'm a little tired".

'Then he wrote me, "Well get some rest babyyy", with three y's and I was like he doesn't know me well enough to put three y's on baby. I was kind of p***ed off.

'And then he just started texting me. And I told my friends, "don't fall in love with a younger man, we are too old and don't ever fall in love by text". Well there goes that.'

Also during the appearance, Cher showed off a huge dazzling diamond ring which 'Alexandra gave to her and she wears it all the time'.

The Burlesque actress has previously detailed how she 'wouldn't marry again' but accepted the ring because it 'shows how he feels'.

When asked what things she likes best about Alexandra, the Baby Don't Go singer praised his sense of style.

'I've never gone with anybody who was a terrible dresser,' Cher noted. 'Alexander is the best dresser.'

The Believe singer also opened up about heartbreak and how important it is for someone to be a good kisser.

She continued: 'I haven't had my heartbroken very many times. Almost none. If they can't kiss it's over, I'm not kidding.

'If they can't kiss forget the other stuff. You can live without a man but it's not as much fun.'

Elsewhere in the video, Cher had some advice for women as Amelia asked what the one thing she believes all women should do at least once in their life.

Without hesitation, the Moonstruck actress - who recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Daily Mail - replied: 'Go out with a younger man.'

Later in the interview, the Sonny and Cher show alum said: 'Older men just do not like me.'

Alexander isn't her first younger man. In the 1980s, the If I Could Turn Back Time hitmaker has dated Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer and Rob Camilletti - who are all more than 10 years younger than she is.

Cher previously explained why she's so smitten with Alexander during a December 2022 appearance on the Kelly Clarkson Show.

'On paper it's kind of ridiculous but in real life we get along great,' she said, referring to their 40-year age difference,

'He's fabulous, and I don't give men qualities that they don't deserve,' she added.

'He's very kind, he's very smart. He's very talented and he's really funny so, and I think he's quite handsome.'

But despite the obvious success of her current relationship, she did not enter into it lightly as, at the time, she felt she should stop dating younger men (pictured in September)
