A CNN panel acknowledged where the Democrats messed up their relationship with Elon Musk and admitted they should have celebrated him.

The billionaire Tesla and SpaceX boss has thrown his support behind Donald Trump this election season and even joined him on stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania just three months after the former president survived an assassination attempt.

Musk admitted his well-established views on Vice President Kamala Harris who Musk said he has been 'trashing non-stop' during the presidential campaign on a recent interview with Tucker Carlson.

During a panel discussion on CNN NewsNight with Abby Philips, California Congressman Ro Khanna and left-wing podcaster Kara Swisher admitted the Democrats made a mistake by losing Musk's support.

'I think where the Democrats starting to lose Elon was actually personal. We should have celebrated his contributions to electric vehicles even though he was against unionization,' Khanna said.

Elon Musk has thrown his support behind Donald Trump this election season and even joined him on stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania

'We should have said, look, Starlink, great product that needs to be used. We should celebrate the fact that he's had the first commercial success of private people in space. I think a lot of it was that we didn't celebrate it and he felt offended.'

Philips asked if there was a specific moments that the Dems lost Musk which Swisher said was when he was snubbed an invite to President Joe Biden's electric vehicle summit in 2021.

'Yes, I got a call from him about it when he wasn't invited to that EV summit. He should have been invited. I called the White House - I never call the White House - and I'm like "Why didn't you invite him? He's very angry,"' Swisher said.

'I was like, he's critically important in this sector. I think the union thing was the big deal of why they didn't invite them and they should've. He deserved that credit.'

Musk's appearance at Trump's rally in Butler was the first time he has taken the stage at a political rally.

Elon Musk told Tucker Carlson that if Kamala Harris wins the election, 'I'm f***ed' and predicts the vice president will send him to prison

The billionaire was inspired to endorse Trump publicly after the failed assassination attempt of the former president at Butler on July 13.

He told Carlson if Harris wins the election, 'I'm f***ed' and predicted the vice president will send him to prison.

'If he loses, I'm f***ed,' he said. 'How long do you think my prison sentence is going to be? Will I see my children? I don't know.'

He has also joked that Biden and Harris have not had public assassination attempts because it would be 'pointless'

Musk said: 'No one is bothering to kill Kamala because it's pointless. What do you achieve? Just another puppet.'
