Dead baby found in bathroom of Manhattan restaurant

A dead baby was found in the bathroom of a Manhattan restaurant on Monday.

The newborn's body was discovered inside Sophie’s Cuban Cuisine in the city's financial district.

Police responded to the scene following a 911 call just before 10am EST, 30 minutes before the restaurant was supposed to open for the day.

Police are looking into whether someone left the baby inside on Sunday or this morning. 

The newborn's age and gender remain unclear. 

They were pronounced dead at the scene. 

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing, an NYPD spokesman told DailyMail.com.
