Donald Trump's staffers purchased nearly $700 worth of food at a McDonald's near the courthouse in New York City where the first criminal trial ever of a former US President is taking place.

Three male staff members bundled into the fast-food restaurant, a five-minute walk away from the court, just before 12pm on the third day of the Stormy Daniels hush money trial, McDonald's employees told DailyMail.com.

They are said to have placed an order at the counter on Thursday which included 27 quarter pounders, 27 portions of fries, filet-o-fish burgers and chicken nuggets.

The staffers walked away with four large bags but allegedly left no tip for the workers who put their lengthy order together.

McDonald's employees said it is not the first time they have seen the same Trump staffers having served them last year with similar items.

Trump's aides are said to have placed an order at the counter on Thursday which included 27 quarter pounders, 27 portions of fries, filet-o-fish burgers and chicken nuggets

The Trump staffers did not purchase any drinks or sweet treats from McDonald's and waited around 45 minutes for their order, according to the workers.

Employees at the fast-food chain added that this is the first time during this trial that the former president's staff members have visited.

'They came here yesterday and bought lots of food with nearly $700,' a McDonalds employee, who wanted to remain anonymous, told DailyMail.com.

'They ordered 27 quarter pounders, 27 fries, chicken nuggets and filet-o-fishes. They didn't even leave a tip, nothing!'

'There were three people who came in and they placed their order at the counter.

'It’s not the first time we saw them. They came last year when he was in court. He has a lot of problems.'

An aide was caught leaving the famous fast food chain with four large bags, riding around in a vehicle marked 'Staff 2,' a sign the black van was part of Trump's motorcade.

Trump's love for McDonald's is a well-documented affair.

His go-to meal is two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish and a chocolate malted milkshake - according to ex-aides Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie in their book, Let Trump Be Trump.

During a 2019 government shutdown, the then-president ordered McDonald's and other fast food - totaling around $5,500 - to feed the Clemson University football team, due to the White House kitchen not being open.

In a viral tweet, the commander-in-chief accidentally referred to the fare as 'hamberders.'

Trump also ordered McDonald's when he was recovering from COVID-19 in October 2020.

During the Biden administration, Trump paid a visit to East Palestine, Ohio after a train derailment and boasted then that he knew the menu better than the residents.

Trump had bags of McDonald's lugged into Manhattan court one day during the lunch break in Trump's $250 million civil fraud trial, DailyMail.com reported in October.

Controversial author Michael Wolff wrote in his 2018 book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, that Trump loves McDonald's due an unusual concern.

Trump 'had a longtime fear of being poisoned, one reason why he liked to eat at McDonald's - nobody knew he was coming and the food was safely premade,' Wolff said.

When running for president in 2016, Trump called McDonald's 'great stuff,' during a CNN town hall with Anderson Cooper.

The then-candidate for president argued the corporation had an imperative to keep their restaurants clean and tidy.

'One bad hamburger, you can destroy McDonald's,' Trump said. 'One bad hamburger and you take Wendy's and all these other places and they're out of business.'

'I like cleanliness, and I think you're better off going there than maybe some place that you have no idea where the food is coming from,' the real estate developer added.

After Thursday's McDonald's break, Judge Juan Merchan adjourned court after a full jury of 12 had been selected.

While the final alternate jurors were seated Friday afternoon.
