The Philadelphia Eagles are still in the dark on wide receiver A.J. Brown's status for Monday's game against the visiting Atlanta Falcons as he deals with a new hamstring injury.

The 27-year-old made a surprise appearance on Friday's injury report and was a limited participant at each of the last two practices.

Sunday is an off day for the Eagles as they rest up for Week 2's Monday Night Football matchup.

'Just got a little tight in practice yesterday,' Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said on Saturday morning. 'We'll see how that goes.'

Brown had five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia's 34-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 6 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Brown has 384 receptions for 6,066 yards and 43 touchdowns in 78 career games (70 starts) with the Tennessee Titans (2019-21) and Eagles.

DeVonta Smith and newcomer Jahan Dotson would see a larger workload should Brown sit out or be limited against the Falcons (0-1).

'That guy gets unfairly judged because he doesn't have the opportunities that other people get,' Sirianni said of Dotson. 'I feel really good about Jahan. I mean, first-round pick, obviously, we traded for him and feel really good about him.

'He's a smooth route runner, everything like that. I just think sometimes that position (the No. 3 receiver in the offense) is unfairly judged at times just because they don't get the opportunities these other guys are gonna get.'
