Elon Musk's mother has been fact-checked for an outrageous US election post on Twitter, which her son owns.
Maye Musk, 76, appeared to urge supporters of Donald Trump to commit blatant voter fraud using fake names and voting multiple times.
'The Democrats have given us another option. You don't have to register to vote. On Election Day, have 10 fake names, go to 10 polling booths and vote 10 times.
'That's 100 votes, and it's not illegal. Maybe we should work the system too.'

A Twitter community note, a feature Musk installed after buying the social media platform, promptly shut her down.
'This is, in fact, illegal,' the note read, with a link to US election law.
Maye was responding to her son's post telling his followers key swing state Georgia's registration deadline was Monday.
'Super important to get all your friends and family to register to vote,' he wrote.
Whether Maye was actually advocating election fraud or making a sarcastic point wasn't clear, but she posted a follow up three hours later.
'In Butler, Pennsylvania, we just heard that the Republicans will make sure no illegals vote. Ignore my previous post,' she wrote.
Maye was referring to Trump's rally where Musk made a cameo appearance on stage with the former president, and gave a speech in support.
She may have been referring to the absurd conspiracy theory that Democrats planned to let asylum seekers and other non-citizens vote, which is also illegal.

Twitter users mocked Maye for her post and claimed it showed her son's ownership of the social media platform was dangerous.
'Just when you thought the 'Dark MAGA' thing could not possibly get any more threatening and sinister, Elon Musk's mom, Maye Musk... encourages MAGA fascist supporters of the loathsome piece of s**t to commit the federal crime of voter fraud,' one wrote.
Another replied to her post: 'That is illegal. Do you have any credible evidence Democrats are engaging in that practice?'
Others called for her to be charged with encouraging people to commit a crime.
Musk was also mercilessly mocked for jubilantly leaping on stage at a Donald Trump rally and declaring he was 'Dark MAGA'.
The Tesla and SpaceX boss was at the Butler Farm Show grounds in Pennsylvania, where Trump survived an assassination attempt three months ago.
Musk donned a black MAGA hat, in contrast to the usual red, and quipped 'I'm not just MAGA, I'm Dark MAGA' as he spoke to the crowd.

'Dark MAGA... More like #DorkMAGA,' one wrote of Musk's antics
Fans of the former president loved his cameo but those on the other side mocked his awkward excitement and expressed fears for democracy, as he owns Twitter.
'Dark MAGA... More like #DorkMAGA,' one wrote.
Another sarcastically told Musk: 'Congrats on turning yourself into a global dweeb meme on your own platform, with #DorkMAGA trending.'
'Anyone else think trump looked embarrassed by Elon's Dark MAGA performance?' a third wrote, with a photo of Trump looking unimpressed next to him.
Another mocked Musk's estrangement from most of his children, particularly his transgender daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson.
'The irony of this pasty white incel calling himself 'Dark MAGA'. Go spend time with your kids Elon. Oh wait, they hate you,' they wrote.
Elon and Trump hug it out on stage after he jumped for joy to meet him
Tesla boss Elon Musk was seen jumping on stage with his fists in air as he joined Donald Trump to address his supporters at the Butler Farm Show in Pennsylvania
But others didn't find Musk's appearance funny, as they feared he would use his ownership of Twitter to help Trump be a dictator.
After leaping up and down, Musk told the huge crowd: 'America is the home of the brave and the true test of someone's character is how they behave under fire.
'We had one president who couldn't climb a flight of stairs and another who was fist-pumping after getting shot! FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!
Musk urged supporters to vote, and register to vote, and to get others to 'vote right now'.
'I'm being repetitive for a reason,' he said. 'Honestly you want to be a pest. Fight, fight, fight! Vote, vote, vote!'
Supporters were jubilant upon seeing the president again and cheered joyously
Musk's appearance at Trump's rally in Butler was the first time he has taken the stage at a political rally.
The billionaire was inspired to endorse Trump publicly after the failed assassination attempt of the former president at Butler on July 13.
As the two men were on stage Trump praised Musk for donating Starlink systems to victims of hurricane Helene, joking he did not understand what the space satellite internet system was.
'I didn't know what the hell Starlink was,' Trump admitted.
The crowds shouted 'Elon! Elon! Elon!' In response
Before Musk's arrival Trump paid tribute to Corey Comperatore, the man who was shot and killed when gunman Thomas Crooks opened fire on July 13.
After Trump called for a moment of silence, opera singer Christopher Macchio sang 'Ave Maria' and a bell rung at the same time that gunfire began three months ago.
The widow of Comperatore and their children also returned to the rally, seated with members of the Trump family.
Trump also paid tribute to two other men who were injured in the attack.
One had returned to the rally, Trump revealed, but one was in the hospital being treated.
At one point, the former president had to pause the rally after a woman fainted, they shouted 'we love Trump!' and sang the National Anthem for about four minutes as she was attended to.

Although the temperature in Butler is only in the high 60s, rallygoers have frequently collapsed at political rallies due to heatstroke this election season.
Earlier, as Trump took the stage he said: 'A very big thank you, we love Pennsylvania. And, as I was saying...'
He had displayed on two big screens a chart on immigration that was there when he was shot.
Trump said: 'I return to Butler to deliver a simple message. We are going to make America great again, we are going to win the election. And to all Americans, together, in just one month we are going to usher in a new golden age.
He added: 'For 16 seconds, time stopped as this vicious monster unleashed pure evil. That villain did not succeed.'
