Elon Musk revealed he will join Donald Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania when the former president returns to the scene of the terrifying attempt on his life.

The billionaire Space X founder, 53, said on X that he will 'be there to support' Trump on Saturday when he takes the same stage where he was shot in the ear on July 13.

Musk announced his upcoming appearance in response to a tweet sent by Trump, sharing the iconic image of him raising his fist with blood on his face after cheating death.

It would mark the first time Musk has joined Trump on stage at one of his rallies, although he has made no secret of his support for the former president since endorsing him earlier this year.

Donald Trump is set to return to Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, the scene of his near-assassination on July 13 when a gunman shot his ear

Elon Musk responded to a tweet from Trump to reveal he will attend Trump's Butler rally on Saturday, tweeting: 'I will be there to support!'

Trump's return to Butler, Pennsylvania had already reportedly sparked fears among officials charged with protecting the former president.

He has received a beefed up security detail in the months since, and the catastrophic security slip that led to the Butler shooting led to the resignation of Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle.

The July 13 shooting - which killed one rallygoer and led to the death of the gunman, Thomas Crooks, 20 - was followed last month by a second attempt on Trump's life in Florida.

In the time since the attempts, USSS spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said the agency had made 'comprehensive changes and enhancements to our communications capabilities, resourcing, and protective operations' surrounding Trump.

Although Musk had teased his endorsement of Trump beforehand, the entrepreneur officially announced his support for Trump in the hours after he survived the Butler assassination attempt.

Elon Musk notably endorsed Trump for the presidency in the hours after the Butler assassination attempt, and said he was impressed with the former president's 'tough' reaction

Musk compared Trump to Theodore Roosevelt, who also survived an assassination attempt, when he endorsed him following the Butler rally

Musk said he was impressed by Trump's spontaneous, 'tough' reaction to a bullet grazing his ear, when he quickly stood up, raised his fist and chanted 'fight, fight, fight.'

'I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,' Musk tweeted hours after the assassination attempt.

'The martyr lived,' he added in a follow up post, and declared: 'Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.'
