Gloria Allred, the famed attorney who has taken on a string of high-profile cases involving women's rights, is representing the girl at the center of the investigation into NBA star Josh Giddey.

The Oklahoma City Thunder player is being investigated by police and the NBA over an alleged relationship with a minor.

Allred was quoted by TMZ Sports as saying: 'We represent the family and have no comment.'

The 21-year-old Giddey has kept playing in the NBA while the allegations, which first surfaced on social media, are investigated.

Allred has previously represented women who accused Bill Cosby of sexual misconduct and women who accused the former U.S. congressman Anthony Weiner of sending sexually explicit photos.

The Oklahoma City Thunder player Giddey, from Australia, is being investigated by police and the NBA over an alleged relationship with a minor

Pictures of the Oklahoma City Thunder star and the girl appeared on social media recently

It comes after Code Sports, in Giddey's native Australia, said the Thunder guard believed the teen was 19 when they met at a nightclub in 2021. And after discovering she was in fact under 18 the next day, Giddey is said to have broken off the relationship.

The New York Post claim to have identified the Oklahoma City nightclub where Giddey was filmed with the teen, stating that the establishment has an over-18 policy.

Giddey and his representatives have declined to comment as the NBA continues to investigate the situation.

When a reporter asked Giddey about the allegations during a media scrum, Giddey said he understood why the question was raised and said nothing else.

'Yeah, I mean I understand the question obviously,' Giddey told the reporter. 'But there's no further comment right now.'

Giddey has continued to play for the Thunder since the allegations surfaced, with Thunder coach Mark Daigneault also facing questions over the accusations.

'Just with the information we have at this point, that's the decision that we've made (to keep playing him),' Daigneault said. 'It's really not even a decision, to be honest with you. It's obviously a league matter at this point so the ball's in their court on that.'

Giddey was heavily booed in Minnesota during the Thunder's 106-103 loss to the Timberwolves on Tuesday.
