A DoorDash driver was presented with a stunning musical surprise as he visited a family home, but tragically revealed his own personal heartbreak while sharing their joy.

The moving moment began when Kyle Philippi's family launched into a performance of a song from Disney's Hercules as soon as the driver arrived at the door.

But it wasn't just Philippi's family ready to put on a grand show. Standing in the hallway was American Idol runner-up Clark Beckham dressed in Ancient Greek attire.

Musicians playing a piano and guitar provided the tune as he began to sing I Can Go The Distance as the Philippi family provided backup with an array of props, including the backdrop of a starlit sky, peacock feathers and a stunning sunset made from cloth.

The driver was so touched by the showcase, he revealed how meaningful it was to see happiness after sadly losing his daughter last year.

At the beginning of the show, the DoorDash driver looked completely bemused as family members began, with one person placing a stack of $10 bills in his hand for his time.

Beckham took on the role of Hercules as he sang the song while slowly going the distance as he climbed the staircase up to the second floor of the home.

The serenade ended with confetti raining down from the landing as the driver, still standing in the doorway and ultimately receiving a tip of $100.

It was clear the experience brought a sense of joy to the driver who thanked the performers before revealing some personal heartbreak of his own.

'Y'all are awesome. This was awesome,' the man said, humbled by the experience.

'Like this was the best DoorDash I've been on in two years. I ain't even playing. This was awesome.'

With tears in his eyes, he told how he had lost his daughter last year and had been working DoorDash to make some extra money.

'I wish we could do more than that', came the heartfelt response from Philippi, - who runs the family's Instagram account with almost 16,000 followers

'Ya'll keep this up. This is awesome,' the driver added.

'We kind of call this "joy comes with freedom" because we just want to spread joy to people and just have some fun and just let people know that there's just random fun acts of kindness out there,' Philippi explained.

The entire hallway of the home was decorated with sheets for the performance

'God bless you', the man said to the family who were all gathered in the hallway.

The fun stunt clearly had an effect on the driver. Just as he walked back down the path, a doorbell cam picked him up remarking to himself out loud.

'That was awesome!' he said once again.

The melodic moment also captured the hearts of viewers who posted a series of positive comments following the performance.

'You brought a spark of joy into that man, you can see it in his eyes,' wrote one user.

'You just never know what people are going through!!' said another.

'This is the most wholesome thing I've ever seen. Well done guys x,' added a third.

'Awe this was beautiful, that man opened up,' wrote one commenter moved by the show.

'This is sooo beautiful... I know would've cried laugh through this whole thing. It's so touching and WE need this! I hope this is something you continue,' praised one fan.

'This is the kind of nonsense I crave in my life. If I were the Door Dasher I’d join in,' posted another user.
