The 72-year-old reality television personality and his 70-year-old fiancee became engaged during the finale of Golden Bachelor, which aired this past Thursday.

The media figure, who proposed with a ring worth $40,000, and his soon-to-be wife subsequently announced that they would tie the knot during a live and televised wedding ceremony on January 4.

Turner began the interview by explaining why he wanted to hold a wedding ceremony just a few weeks after becoming engaged.

'When you're in your 20s and you put something off for a year, it's a very small percentage of your life. In your 70s, the clock ticks faster,' he said.

The reality television personality's fiancee was formerly married to a childhood sweetheart named Billy, with whom she tied the knot during an impromptu wedding ceremony in 1972.

Turner then stated that he intended for his fiancee to enjoy the planning process of their upcoming wedding ceremony.

Nist added that she felt as if her upcoming wedding ceremony was 'going to be incredible.'
