Goldie Hawn says she's 'never without' a security guard after her Los Angeles home was broken into TWICE - and hints that she may be next A-list star to leave 'terrible' city

Goldie Hawn has taken drastic measures to ensure her safety after two break-ins at the Los Angeles home she shares with Kurt Russell back in 2020.

The actress, 78, revealed that she is 'never without' a security guard following the scary ordeals and hinted that she may be the next star to flee the 'terrible' city.

She recounted the back-to-back burglary attempts on Wednesday's episode of Kelly Ripa's Let's Talk Off Camera podcast.

Hawn said that 'sophisticated' thieves first ransacked her LA home while she and Russell were out to dinner one night.

'We were robbed once. We went out, went to dinner together and we were gone maybe 2 hours and 20 minutes or something,' she recalled.

When they got back to the house, Hawn decided to head off to bed and soon discovered that they'd been robbed. 'I went up to the stairs and I walked into my closet and I just lost it,' she told Ripa.

'They had broken in from the balcony to our bedroom, our closets, and they completely knocked down my door, which is a safe door, so they're very, very sophisticated and they got a lot of my goodies.'

Hawn and Russell's residence was hit a second time just four months later while she was home alone with the couple's pets.

She recalled hearing a 'big thump' but didn't discover that the sound was the result of an attempted burglary until the next day.

'I'm in the house by myself. It's the dog and I hear this big thump upstairs, and I was alone. Kurt wasn't there and I went, 'What the hell was that?'' she recalled.

'It was just like, was that a sonic boom? Did somebody jump somewhere?

'I mean, and as it turned out, the next day we discovered that they were trying to get in my bedroom while I was in the house.'

Goldie said she was in total shock and 'couldn't believe' that their home had been targeted again.

'I couldn't believe it, "What is happening here?"' she recalled.

Now Hawn has enlisted 24/7 security to ensure that both herself and her family are safe.

'I'm never without a guard … especially when I'm alone,' she told Ripa.

The Death Becomes Her star said she feels 'good' having a guard around and that she's since formed a 'nice relationship' with individual.

She suggested that she and Russell are now living 131 miles outside of Los Angeles in Palm Desert, California.

She gushed that they finally feel 'safe' there after years of dealing with 'terrible' Los Angeles.

Hawn and Russell — who have been romantically linked since 1983 and share son Wyatt Russell, 37 — have previously owned residence in LA's Pacific Palisades and Malibu.

They also have homes in Colorado and New York City.

Wyatt and his wife of five-years Meredith Hagner sold off their home in LA's Studio City area in 2022 but Hawn's two other children — actors Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson — are still LA residents.

Kate, 45, lives in massive Pacific Palisades estate previously owned by Hawn and Russell with her fiance Danny Fujikawa, 38, and her three kids: Ryder, 20, Bingham, 12, and Rani Rose, five.

Oliver, 47, and his pageant queen wife Erinn Bartlett, 51, recently renovated their Los Angeles home after hunkering down the Hawn and Russell for several weeks.

The longtime married couple share four kids: Rio Laura, eight, Bodhi Hawn, 11, and Wilder Brooks, 14.

Hawn shares Kate and Oliver with ex-husband, musician Bill Hudson, 74. They were married from 1976 to 1982.

Kate and Oliver were estranged from their father for most of their lives but have recently begun to mend the family rift.

Hawn is the latest celebrity to swear off Los Angeles as California as a whole faces a population decline due to politics, safety concerns, and what it's notoriously known for - traffic.

The state of California has lost over 500,000 residents between 2020 and 2022, according to the LA Times. It's the fourth largest decrease in the country in that time, behind New York, Illinois and Louisiana.

Celebrities like Jim Carrey, Mark Wahlberg, Sylvester Stallone, Rob Schneider, Joe Rogan and Matt Damon have high-tailed it out of Los Angeles in recent years.
