Goth college volleyball player goes viral with fans obsessing over 'gothlete' Nora Hayd at Boise State

Boise State beach volleyball player Nora Hayd has become a social media sensation after fans were alerted to her goth style.

A picture of the team's roster for this season went viral on social media after Hayd posed for her annual photo wearing full goth makeup.

It proved to be a stark contrast to the rest of her teammates, but fans went wild for Hayd's style on social media.

In the picture, Hayd can be seen wearing white paint on her face with red and black hair, lipstick and a number of facial piercings. 

'You don't see many gothletes,' one fan posted on social media.

'Do they sell jerseys? It's of paramount importance I get merch,' added another.

A third posted: 'I'm suddenly the biggest Boise St volleyball fan'.

Others commented they were now 'obsessed' with Hayd and that 'she's amazing'. 

Hayd's profile on the team's website says she is a sophomore and was previously at Bothell High School in Washington.

She also played for the DaKine Volleyball Club and was on the 2020 and 2021 AVCA Phenom List, which recognizing elite rising high school volleyball student-athletes.

Fans will be able to watch Hayd in action when Boise State plays Washington on October 12.
