Hotels reveal the most BIZARRE and PRICEY items that guests leave behind

Guest staying in hotels around the world have left all manner of items behind in their rooms including everything from a pet lizard to a $6 million watch.

Some of the more unusual items have been cataloged by Hotels.com as part of their annual 'Innsights' report.

The usual suspects in the 'forgotten items' category include things that you might expect including dirty laundry, phone chargers, makeup, and toiletries but it's the more out of the ordinary objects that are raising eyebrows.

They include some truly pricey personal items include Rolex watches and a Birkin bag which can range anywhere from $12,000 to a staggering $200,000.

A Rolex watch, wads of cash and a luxury Birkin bag have all been forgotten by guests. A pet lizard, a chick, car tire and construction pipes were also reported to have been left behing

Other jaw-dropping items items left behind by guests include a pet lizard and a chick. Both were found and returned to their owners.

While leaving behind a phone charger might common, one guest managed to leave behind two leg casts, while an astonishing 10 percent of hotels reported guests had left behind their dentures. 

Among the more inexplicable items left behind are a rice cooker, car tire, a blender and even some construction pipes all reported as being forgotten by guests from more that 400 hotels surveyed around the globe.

Among other the more unusual items left behind in the room include the keys to a luxury car along with ownership documents for the vehicle.

Hotel staff often find wads of cash left behind in the hotel safe, but other priceless items have also been found there including a tooth and even an engagement ring.

The most common items left behind include chargers, dirty laundry, makeup and underwear

'At Hotels.com we know hotels inside and out – it's in our name,' Melanie Fish, vice president of global public relations for the site, said.

'By asking hotels to reveal the secrets behind their most memorable stays, we discovered that these 'inn-sights' have actually inspired services available to guests today,' Fish said. 

'From guitar concierges to pet healers, hotels are catering to travelers' unique demands, which may well become the norm.' 

Apart from the lost property bin, the report also detailed some of the more unusual room service requests placed by guests. 

They include a request for four pounds of bananas, a bathtub filled with Evian water for one spoiled young guest, some burnt toast and a hot dog topped with caviar.
