How Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma's wedding was blighted by a feud with the actor who set them up - as former friend reveals he was snubbed from their Sardinia ceremony

Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma enjoyed a fairytale wedding ceremony in Sardinia on Saturday, with the blushing brides saying 'I do' in front of their nearest and dearest.

Not on the guestlist, however, was Rebel's former best friend Hugh Sheridan, who recently claimed he no longer speaks to the couple and wasn't invited to their wedding, despite being the one to set them up.

In another blow, Hugh, 39, has claimed that he has no clue what happened to spark their feud, insisting the couple simply ghosted him.

Hugh and Rebel, 44, had been friends for years, with Hugh even supporting Rebel during a high-profile court case, but he started speaking of a distance between the pair as far back as 2022, admitting he struggled to see the actress because she was busy in a 'love bubble' with Ramona, 40.

Rather than travelling to Sardinia for his former best friend's big days, Hugh spent Saturday on a nighttime boat trip around the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

'It's corny and seedy, but believe me, I like the simple life,' he captioned the videos, referring to his song, titled Give Me the Simple Life.

Earlier this month, the Australian actor detailed his shock falling out with his former best friend Rebel.

Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, host Kyle Sandilands asked Hugh whether he would be travelling to Italy to attend Rebel and Ramona's wedding.

'No, I wasn't even told about it. I've actually messaged them [but I didn't hear back],' the singer responded. 'Look, I don't even really know them anymore.'

'Did you do something wrong?' a surprised Kyle asked before Hugh admitted he had 'no idea what has happened'.

'On their first date, I even gave them both little Tiffany's necklaces and they still wear them,' Hugh continued.

'I just hope that everything goes well for Rebel. I do worry about it though because I went to court for her here and we were really great mates.'

In 2017 , Rebel won her legal case against Bauer Media for eight articles published in their magazines, including Woman's Day and OK! Magazine, which claimed she had lied about her real name, age and childhood.

During her defamation case, Hugh had testified via video link that Rebel had been 'very upset' about the articles and the pair had visited a secret apartment in Disneyland.

Not on the guestlist, however, was Hugh, who recently claimed he no longer speaks to the couple and wasn't invited to their wedding, despite being the one to set them up

Continuing to voice his upset, Hugh continued: 'I did introduce her to Ramona and all that sort of thing. I just want her to have good people around.

'And I worry because I feel like back in the day, I was probably one of the only people that would be there for her and now with the silence and stuff, I just want to make sure she's all right, but I'm sure she's all right.'

Hugh also revealed how he introduced Rebel to his assistant and now 'she doesn't talk to me either'.

The Packed to the Rafters star previously told how he 'played Cupid' for Rebel by setting her up with Ramona in 2021.

'I'm a bit of a matchmaker in my spare time. I've got a few marriages in there,' Hugh said in a past radio appearance on 2Day FM.

'Both were really hard to set up. Ramona is really smart, and Rebel is really smart.

'I was in New York with my ex and feeling very sad, and Rebel said she can't imagine how I feels because she's never been in love before!'

'I thought, ''Gosh, she's a hard one to crack.'' So I thought of Ramona straight away.'

Hugh said of the wedding: 'I wasn't even told about it. I've actually messaged them [but I didn't hear back]' (pictured as Rebel's date to Jimmy Kimmel in 2019)

Continuing to voice his upset, Hugh continued: 'I did introduce her to Ramona and all that sort of thing. I just want her to have good people around' (pictured in 2017)

Hugh said in April last year that he had not met Rebel's daughter Royce Lillian, who she welcomed via surrogate.

'I've been going hard since the end of last year – we did Solitary Man, we shot Five Bedrooms, we put out Back to the Rafters – it's been really busy but really fulfilling,' the star told The Daily Telegraph at the time.

'I'll be going back to LA after this Sydney run and will finally get to meet Royce.

'When I was back there, they were away so I haven't seen them yet – but I'm looking forward to connecting to all my friends over there.'

In 2022, Hugh revealed that he'd barely seen Rebel and Ramona because the women have been busy in their 'love bubble'.

'Well I'm looking forward to seeing them again,' Hugh said of the pair, adding that they understand the couple have been otherwise occupied.

'I think what happens is people go into a love bubble - so I lost two of my best friends to one relationship,' Hugh added.

'But now it turns out they were making a baby so that's amazing.'

MailOnline has contacted Rebel's representatives for comment.

On Saturday, the Bridesmaids star said 'I do' with Ramona at a destination wedding on the large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea.

A source previously told DailyMail.com that the couple planned to tie the knot in a 'super romantic' and intimate ceremony surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

Pictures from the big day showed the newlyweds looking incredible in near-identical strapless wedding dresses with voluminous skirts.

Both brides opted for an off the shoulder design, but while Rebel opted for a plain finish and a thin belt around her waist, Ramona decided on beaded detailing and a plunging mesh neckline.

Rebel wore her blonde locks in loose waves with a pretty floral hairpiece, while jewellery designer Ramona had her hair pinned up in a stylish chignon.

The newlyweds clutched matching bouquets of white roses as they said their vows in front of family and friends - which included former TOWIE star Vas J Morgan.

The couple first met in 2021 and announced their engagement in February 2023. They share a daughter Royce Lillian, who will turn two in November.

DailyMail.com exclusively shared the news of their nuptials last week, revealing that the couple were 'thrilled' to be tying the knot.

'Rebel is really excited to be getting married to the love of her life, she is absolutely thrilled,' a source shared ahead of the big day.

'It is going to be stunning and super romantic. She is madly in love and can't wait to be wed.'

'Rebel doesn't want to wait any longer, she is happy to marry this month because she is very much in love with Ramona and wants to be wed,' the source added.

'It will be a small ceremony with close friends and family, and also very elegant,' the insider concluded.
