Incredible moment 22-month-old toddler swings from a trapeze before landing in a pile foam bricks and crying in front of stunned parents

A toddler has been hailed as a 'future Olympian' after extraordinary footage of her effortlessly swinging on a 20ft trapeze before landing in a pile foam bricks in front of her stunned parents went viral on TikTok.

Reighlynn Provo grinned from ear-to-ear as she swung backwards and forwards five more times without losing her grip on a trapeze at a trampoline park in Virginia Beach, Virginia last spring.

The 22-month-old, grinning and even swinging her legs, swayed like a baby version of Team USA gold medalist Simone Biles before letting go and dropping 10ft into the foam pit below.

Her mother Aimee, 28, says Reighlynn cried for a second, but was beaming again once she was pulled from the pit. She was so impressed by her toddler's skills that she has signed her up for tumbling classes in hopes she can become a gymnast.

Videos of Reighlynn's first go on the trapeze have been viewed more than 4.8 million times on TikTok where other users have tipped her to be an 'Olympian in the making' and praised her as 'brave' and 'strong'.

The now-viral videos show how Reighlynn's father Jarrett, 30, helped his daughter grip onto the trapeze before releasing her to swing 20ft forwards and back on April 17 this year.

The smiling toddler swung back-and-forth several times before she let go and fell to the pit below, sobbing as she landed face first, before wanting to do it again right away.

Aimee said her husband was 'scared' to let Reighlynn try it, but the toddler's confidence on the trampolines reassured her it would be okay.

The mother-of-two, from Virginia Beach, said: 'We were all surprised with how well she did.

'When she pointed at the trapeze Jarrett was kind of scared to let her do it but I told him that I was pretty sure she could.

'Knowing what she'd done in the trampoline park before and that there was a soft pit below I wasn't worried.

'The first time Jarrett got scared and he picked her up but she got mad and wanted to do more.

'She even swung on it a few times before letting it go and we had to yell at her to let go because she wanted to hang on for as long as she could.

'When she fell she cried for a second but we picked her up and she was perfectly happy and wanted to go on it again.

Reighlynn then let go and dropped 10ft into the foam pit below, sobbing as she landed face first, before wanting to do it again right away

Aimee says Reighlynn's passion for gymnastics began by playing on her kids' trampoline at home.

She added: 'We're hoping she can be a budding gymnast and be like Simone Biles. It's great she's got an interest in this at such a young age.

'A lot of people talked about her being so young that we shouldn't let her do it but I don't respond to [criticism] because I know what I'm doing with my kids.'

The TikTok video has more than 1,000 comments with most in awe at her daughter's talent, but some were concerned she was too young to be trying out the trapeze.

One commented: 'Olympic gymnast in the making. You heard it here first.'

A second said: 'Toddler strength literally makes no sense haha. WHY ARE THEY SO STRONG?'

A third joked: 'I was worried but she proved me wrong! She's a pro.'

A fourth added: 'She attempted to do a little flip. So brave and strong!'

However, some criticized Aimee as 'insane' for allowing Reighlynn to try the trapeze despite being not even two years old.

But another user argued back: 'Why? Many gyms have this for toddler gym days. There's someone spotting and it's not that high from the foam pit.'

They responded: 'Trusting the grip of a baby (not a toddler) to hopefully not fall and snap its neck? Crazy. The baby looks like it just started carrying its own head up.'

Another said: 'I do agree. It's safer to wait until at least three years old and up, but I don't know the family enough to call them insane.

'After all, they made sure the little one had a grip, a spotter and that she was over foam.'
