This is the incredibly brave moment a heroic Ohio cop stormed onto a bus engulfed in flames to rescue children on board.

Bodycam footage captures the highway patrol officer responding to reports of a deadly collision on November 14 which resulted in a four-way car crash and a fire on the I-70.

The crash killed three student band members from Tuscarawas Valley Schools and three chaperones who were accompanying them to a performance.

They were in an SUV in front of the tractor trailer that caused the accident - which was driving behind both the bus and the SUV.

Video now shows the cop car pulling over on the highway and the officer jumping out and asking 'did we get everybody out?'

A bystander screamed: 'No! There's kids on the bus but we can't get to them.'

After grabbing a fire extinguisher from the trunk - the officer fearlessly charged onto the burning bus as flames engulfed the back rows.

'Anyone here? Anyone?' the officer screamed as several other Samaritans piled onto the bus to help.

Nobody responded and the flames blocked the view into the back of the bus. The officer demanded a headcount for the people in the vehicle but no audible answer was given in the moment.

The driver of the bus was injured - but still managed to help pull the students off the bus.

The hero officer then approached the students who had been able to escape the bus and asked them if anyone needed medical attention.

The officer, along with a group of Samaritans, bravely climbed on to the bus - but couldn't see any passengers because of the flames and thick smoke

The chain reaction collision allegedly began with the tractor trailer cruising behind the charter bus transporting the students and the SUV with the chaperones

Another bodycam caught footage of a different trooper approaching the scene to help.

The trooper asked if everyone had been able to escape the vehicles and frantic bystanders told him there were others still trapped on the bus.

A group including the officer and bystanders managed to pull a remaining person out of the SUV to safety.

A report obtained by FOX 8 suggested that the tractor trailer hit the chaperone SUV, which pushed into the charter bus, which then crashed into another SUV that was in front of the three vehicles.

The driver of the tractor trailer was a 60-year-old man from Zanesville, Ohio.

He was given a breath and urine test for alcohol and drugs - which came out negative. He also insisted he was not distracted at the time of the crash.
