An apartment just one floor below Donald Trump's opulent triplex at Trump Tower in New York City has hit the market for the first time in 30 years with an asking price of $8.99 million.

The three bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom home inside the landmark skyscraper at 721 Fifth Avenue promises luxury living with a number of perks.

This 3,500 square foot apartment, listed by realtor Michelle Griffith at Douglas Elliman, offers incredible awe-inspiring views at every turn on three sides of the building.

Whether gazing north over the greenery of Central Park or south at the gleaming Midtown skyscrapers, the apartment offers quintessential New York living with a flair of VIP glamour.

And of course, there is always the possibility of bumping into the former president who may be spending more time in the city now that his youngest child, Baron, has started his studies at NYU.

The apartment which offers stunning views on three sides of the building is priced at $8.99m

The south side of the building offers stunning views of Midtown Manhattan and the Empire State Building

The spacious home has floor-to-ceiling windows that frame iconic cityscapes like they’re personal works of art. The large windows allow plenty of natural light to flood into the home with a huge living-dining room area, ideal for entertaining.

The expansive living-dining area is practically begging for stylish soirées, with room for 12 guests to dine around a long hardwood table.

From the master bedroom, the Empire State Building can be clearly seen just over 20 blocks away. The ensuite bathroom is clad in stone providing a solid finish. Nearby is an expansive walk-in closet.

The bathroom also consists of a freestanding tub and separate oversized shower and double-sinks.

A second ensuite bedroom awaits, and the third can easily be turned into a dream home office.

With wide-plank hardwood floors, sleek fireplaces, and designer lighting throughout, the apartment's minimalist style offers a serene contrast to the over-the-top grandeur of Trump’s residence one floor above.

Those visiting Trump's apartment are in for a dazzling scene with floor-to-ceiling marble, ceilings painted with scenes from the classical Greek myths - and 24karat gold touches... everywhere.

But don’t be fooled by this apartment's calm aesthetic.

The place still delivers top-tier luxury, from the 24-hour concierge service to the children’s playroom, gym, yoga studio, and even a private movie theater.

The top to bottom renovation was led by designer Bart Verhelle and offers a study in sophisticated minimalism.

Aside from the apartment, the building with its own private entrance on 56th Street comes with a host of amenities.

Views of Central Park are unrivaled with no other skyscrapers around to block the view

Looking south along Fifth Avenue the concrete jungle of New York City is clearly on display

Security is presumably tight in the building with Trump under the eye of the secret service

They include a 24-hour doorman, concierge services and a fitness center consisting of a gym and yoga studio.

There's also a children’s playroom, movie theatre, a library alongside several meeting rooms.

For those that tire of what's on offer inside, the posh shops and high-end dining of Fifth Avenue are just steps away.

Although Trump spends much of time at his Mar-a-Largo residence in Florida, it was Trump who  developed Trump Tower, which was completed in 1983.

He has used it as a platform to kick off his presidential campaign in 2015.

Celebrities including actor Bruce Willis and Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo have also called it home at one time or another.
