Beauty influencer Jonathan Monroe showed off his drastic hair transformation after using a handy aloe vera hack, impressing his 884,000 Instagram followers

The influencer uses aloe as a mask treatment, applying it for 15 minutes before washing it out with cool water

The content creator completely revived his dull, frizzy hair by using the gel inside the plant and sliding it onto sections of his hair one by one

Jonathan captioned the quick tutorial, 'What aloe vera does to my curly hair!' before explaining in the comments, 'I used this as a mask treatment. Once applied all over I let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes then washed out with ONLY COOL WATER.'

All over aloe vera!  Summing up the miracle plant's benefits

  • According to Medical News Today, this medicinal plant is packed with antibacterial properties
  • The gel within the thick leaves provides benefits including accelerating healing and preventing wrinkles
  • Using an aloe mask helps strengthen the hair as it has Vitamin A, C, and E
  • Aloe also helps relieve itching in people with dandruff

The beauty guru sectioned off his thick, curly locks, before dragging the open plant in a downwards motion to make sure the gel was penetrating his hair.

After letting his hair sit with the aloe on for about 15 minutes, he washed it off and revealed perfect curls.

One commenter suggested that people 'have to wash it off' after, but it might leave remnants behind. 'I get bit sticky kinda feeling, even when I use it on face but really does wonders for both hair and skin,' the continued.

Another person explained, 'in the Caribbean is part of our culture to leave it for getting the curly effect.'

'I've tried this... just leave them like that. It will smell a bit but your hair will be sesky,' a commenter raved.

'Yess yess yess. It works wonders y'all should try it once!' another beauty fan wrote encouragingly.

The technique was a hit with his 2.4 million TikTok followers too, although some commenters had questions about the process.

'Okay, but like... what about the weird smell of aloe?' one asked.

Another asked where they could buy aloe plants, which were usually available at health food stores and at Amazon.

The incredible medicinal plant really does work wonders, as it helps strengthen hair with Vitamin A, C, and E, and can even relieve itching for people dealing with dandruff if they apply the gel directly onto their scalps.

Commenters shared their own aloe vera hair hacks, although some complained about the strong scent

One commenter suggested using aloe as a mask in the steam room to make hair 'magnificent and soft'

According to Medical News Today, using an aloe mask on hair can have multiple benefits, including helping with hair loss, deep cleaning the hair to remove any old buildup, and revives dry and brittle hair with Vitamins A, C, and E.

The hair mask strengthens, moisturizes, and even protects hair against UV damage.

Making an aloe mask for the scalp is also a hack for people who suffer from dandruff, because the antifungal properties help fight the yeast overgrowth that caused the problem.

Whether you apply a pricey aloe hair treatment or cut the gel straight out of the plant yourself, the prickly miracle plant provides plenty of healing properties whether you're suffering from a sunburn or looking to get rid of lackluster locks.
