It was billed as a chance to, 'step into the enchanting world of the Regency-era'.
But Detroit's disastrous Bridgerton-themed ball is going down in history for all the wrong reasons.
Fans who shelled out up to $2,000 for the 'evening of sophistication' were left stunned when they were greeted by 'dollar store' decorations, disposable plates and a lone violinist instead of the grand orchestra promised.
The only other entertainment was a scantily clad pole dancer, who revealed she was hired just three hours before the event.
The ball was such a failure that at least one reveler has reported the organizers to police and has plans for a class action lawsuit, while the venue told DailyMail.com they would never work with them again.
Organizers of a ball based on the hit Netflix show Bridgerton have come under fire after the event was slammed as a poorly run 'scam'
Ashlyn Cook claims she has more than 50 fellow angry guests, including 'two with injuries' who are looking to sue organizers Uncle & Me.
'Nothing in your ticket you actually got,' Cook explained. 'Because of how poorly executed it was, it seems like a scam. I feel ripped off and cheated, they need to be held accountable.'
She added that previous events run by organizers Uncle & Me had allegedly gone wrong leading her to believe it was not just 'an innocent mistake'.
'It's sad it needs to not happen again. This was supposed to be my birthday gift. I'm a mom-of-two I care for my disable veteran husband, this was supposed to be a fun night out.
'We had such promise but it turned into anything but what we paid for.'
One of those allegedly injured is a woman who says she fell due to 'overcrowding' and sustained a cut which required a tetanus shot as there were no medical staff on site to help her.
Cook said issues began even before the event when an original date got scrapped and the ball was rearranged with no refunds offered.
Meanwhile, suppliers and contractors have been lining up to distance themselves from the chaotic scenes of September 22.

'It's been a mess for sure,' a spokesman for the Harmonie Club, where the event was held, told DailyMail.com as he speculated on what went wrong. 'If I had to take a guess, I'd say it was improper planning and organization.'
The historic venue was merely the backdrop for the chaos and is in no way affiliated with organizers Uncle & Me.
'Unfortunately, you know, one of our first major events held in the property and all of the feedback has been a beautiful property, right?' he added.
'We got affiliated with the event and it not it's not a good image. We're being contacted about it pretty frequently.'
He explained that the venue conducted thorough checks prior to taking the booking, including making sure organizers had insurance used and approved vendors.
While they had never worked together before, the venue looked to Uncle & Me's previous events as evidence they could deliver.
Instead of Bridgerton inspired plays, the entertainment was as scantily clad pole dancer hired just hours before the event
The event quickly ran out of food, some of which guests said were still raw, and was being served by a woman in a jersey and jeans
'I mean, they had even done a Bridgerton themed tea party,' the spokesman said.
'She said it was a success. There was no other, you know, background that that kind of said this would be an unsuccessful event.
'When all obligations of the contract has been met, we have no real pull on the direction, the planning or the food or any of that, the the client picks, right? It's on the client to, to plan design, execute, organize all that.'
He added that the venue has since been ghosted by Uncle & Me owners Chelsea Beard and Jeremy Scott and vowed never to work with them again.
However, one person claiming to be a vendor at the event posted saying that she did not think Beard set out to scam anyone.
'We were brought in very last minute and did everything in our power to execute despite a lack of information and payment,' the vendor posted on Facebook.
'We are still owed quite a bit of money but she hasn't ghosts us and has been communicating. My guess is that she didn't have the funds as she doesn't get paid from the Eventbrite until three days post event.'
Tickets for the ball cost a minimum of $150 but some fans spent up to $1,000 on the Duke and Duchess option, which was supposed to come with dinner, orchestra music, a professional dance card, professional photos and a valet, according to AV Club.
The backdrops and décor appeared to have come from stores like Party City or Dollar General, disappointed fans said. Others have complained that it was hard to get copies of their photographs from the event, unless you had airdrop - an iPhone specific feature
One Bridgerton fan said she 'hadn't even walked in' to The Harmonie Club when she saw more than 60 people leaving
The event was nothing like the luxurious balls hosted by members of the Ton in the hit Netflix series. Pictured are Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington at a ball in season three of the show
Others spent hundreds of dollars more on ball gowns, flights to Detroit for the supposedly glamorous event, hotels and Airbnbs.
But when they arrived they were served school cafeteria-style food on disposable plates with plastic cutlery.
Cups had to be reused because the organizer had not ordered enough. The wait staff were also just people wearing jerseys and jeans.
'People with diabetes, low blood sugar were crying because there was no food being served,' Cook explained. 'People ended up across the road getting Domino's because there was not enough.'
Cook added that a chaotic system meant that guests who had not paid for dinner ended up joining the line for food, which was already scarce leading to long lines of 'angry, hungry people'.
Prior to that she said that attendees were left standing in the rain for hours while waiting to be admitted.
Guests say they were promised a gift, plus $2,000 cash prize for best dressed.
The ball wound up being so boring that photos and videos posted online showed women sitting on the floor in ballgowns scrolling through their phones.
It has now been compared to other failed ventures such as a notorious Willy Wonka festival in Glasgow that ended in disaster and the infamous Fyre festival disaster in the Bahamas.
The Detroit Bridgerton Themed ball was not licensed or sponsored by Netflix, which hosts its own touring event called The Queen's Ball: A Bridgerton Experience.
Guests have taken to social media to express their fury at being 'ripped off'.
There was just one violinist, even though guests were promised orchestra music
TikToker Nita told how the woman who was supposed to portray Queen Charlotte was pushing her business card and telling her to follow her on Instagram, while another TikTok user recounted how the queen greeted him by saying: 'What up doe?'
'Very unprofessional, horribly planned, no organization,' Riley Rose said.
'I can't believe I spent money to stand in a room. My tickets were not even scanned . Where tf is our gift?' Dan Krisher fumed.
'Absolute scam, no giveaways two strippers were the only 'play/performance' that took place,' Kayla Von said.
'They lied and said there'd be a bar for people 21 and up. There was only juice at the bar no alcohol. Poorly decorated and the queen was a ghetto mess unprofessional.'
While Chelsea Head blasted, the 'raw' chicken served and low quality of the food.
'The servers had dirty gloves, and hours line for shit food. Air France has better food for my economy seat in the back,' she wrote.
The event company's owner Chelsea Beard took to Instagram yesterday to address the backlash.
'We understand that not everyone had the experience they anticipated at our event on Sunday night at The Harmonie Club, and for that, we sincerely apologize,' she said.
'Our goal was to create a magical evening, but we recognize that organizational challenges and unforeseen changes, including a last-minute venue and date change, impacted the experience for some guests.
Uncle & Me LLC said it is reviewing options to make it up to the paying guests

Attendees also complained of poorly stocked bars which only served juice
'Unfortunately, some nonrefundable deposits from the original bookings resulted in losses on our end, which added to the challenges. Nonetheless, we take full responsibility for these shortcomings.
'Please know that we are working diligently to address all concerns and will be reaching out with further details shortly. Your feedback, both positive and constructive, is greatly appreciated. You can expect an email with next steps.'
