J.D. Vance's wife Usha sets the record straight on whether or not her husband wears eyeliner... and says she's 'always been jealous' of his look

Usha Vance is setting the record straight on her husband J.D.'s luscious eyelashes, saying he was born with them amid speculation over whether the Republican vice presidential nominee wears eyeliner to make his blue eyes pop.

The 38-year-old wife of Donald Trump's running mate said 'they're all natural' of Vance's eyelashes in a statement to Puck News. 

'I've always been jealous of those lashes,' she gushed.

Vance's piercing blue eyes and looks have gained increased attention as he has been thrust into the spotlight with the looming presidential election, in part because Trump himself has regularly commented on the 40-year-old Republican's appearance.

Days before choosing Vance as his running mate, Trump mused about the looks of his top contenders.

'He looks like a young Abraham Lincoln,' Trump said in an interview on Fox News Radio early last month discussing Vance's beard.

'He's one handsome son of a b***h,' Trump also once told his inner circle.

But since Vance has hit the national stage as the ex-president's running mate, there has been speculation over whether he uses eyeliner to enhance hid deep blue eyes on the campaign trail and in television interviews as the Ohio lawmaker serves as a fierce defender of Trump. 

'Is J.D. Vance Wearing Eyeliner?' read the headline in Slate at the end of last month. 

The entire think-piece was complementary of his eyes as it did a deep-dive into the possibility of Vance wearing eyeliner. The author concluding he probably does not.

A search of 'J.D. Vance' and 'eyeliner' on X results in a series of tweets questioning if the GOP VP nominee is wearing makeup with close up images of the 40-year-old's face. 

A search on Instagram yields similar results. 

Now, his wife going on the record could help lay to rest the swirling online debate.  

Usha Vance has hit the campaign trail by her husband's side for multiple stop across the country since he was named Trump's running mate, but she has remained mostly quiet in public apart from a sit down interview with Fox News. 

But the relatively private mother of three has been a defender of her husband as he has faced scrutiny not just for his image but also as a series of past comments come to light he has made about childless women. The remarks have faced harsh pushback. 

Vance has defended her husband's 2021 'childless cat lady' remarks. She told Fox News that the way her husband and his comments have been portrayed is 'not accurate' and said the criticism is 'not the J.D. I know.' 

She brushed off negative press stating that she has 'grown accustomed to it and grown a thick skin,'

Her husband has been chasing Vice President Kamala Harris and newly minted running mate Tim Walz through battleground states as they introduce their new ticket to voters across the country.
