Jennifer Lawrence had a hilarious reaction as she suffered a wardrobe malfunction during her Saks Fifth Avenue holiday lighting ceremony in New York on Monday.

The Hunger Games star, 33, was giving a speech before unveiling the Saks Fifth Avenue and Dior 'Carousel of Dreams' 2023 holiday window displays, when suddenly her belt popped off and fell to the ground.

The Academy Award-winning actress raised her hands to her face in shock while exclaiming 'I'm so sorry, that was so loud, my belt popped off!' in a clip shared by Women's Wear Daily

However, like a true pro, the star - who stunned fans with a full-frontal naked scene in her latest film - quickly collected herself and continued on with her speech, before unveiling the windows.

The blonde bombshell looked chic as ever in a Dior outfit, wearing a sophisticated black coat over a white button-up shirt, with a black belt wrapped around her waist.

The light extravaganza spanned across the 10-story building, and featured installations in-store and 300,000 LED lights.

It was the first time the retailer exclusively collaborated with a fashion brand for its annual holiday window display.

The feat took a '100 artisans, 10 months in planning and involved designing and manufacturing objects in Italy' and 'flying them to New York to install' as per Women's Wear Daily.

The window displays featured signature Dior motifs, including the star, the clover and the signs of the zodiac, drawing inspiration from the Dior cruise 2024 collection.

The windows will stay up through January 5th.

'This celebration is around Christmas, the unveiling of the Christmas windows around Rockefeller Center, making a big gift to the city, and to the New York citizens. It’s for Saks, it’s for New York and it’s for the U.S. We hope it will have a reach that is beyond the city and have some recognition for all of our clients across the U.S.,' said Charles Delapalme, managing director of Christian Dior Couture.

Lawrence has been a Dior ambassador since 2012.

It comes after it was revealed Lawrence is unlikely to return to The Hunger Games.

The star portrayed Katniss Everdeen in the first four movies of the dystopian sci-fi film franchise but producer Nina Jacobson says her return is dependent on author Suzanne Collins writing a new novel featuring her alter ego.

Jacobson told Yahoo Entertainment: 'If Suzanne has something to say, then she'll write a book about it.

'Honestly, as much as I love Katniss, I think her story is complete. And I think that Suzanne feels that her story is complete.'

She added: 'But if that changes, and Suzanne has something she wants to say, and it involves Katniss, then I would be thrilled.'

'But really any chance to be back in this world, and lead with Francis (Lawrence) and Suzanne, I would take regardless of who it was about.'

The franchise returned to the big screen this month with the prequel film 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' and Jennifer expressed hope earlier this year that she could make a return.

Asked about the prospect by Variety, the No Hard Feelings star said: 'Oh, my God – totally! If Katniss ever could ever come back into my life, 100 per cent.

'My producing partner just clutched her heart.'

Rachel Zegler features as protagonist Lucy Gray Baird in the prequel and director Francis Lawrence explained that she is the 'anti-Katniss'.

The filmmaker told Empire magazine: 'Katniss was an introvert and a survivor. She was quite quiet and stoic, you could almost say (she was) asexual. Lucy Gray is the opposite. She wears her sexuality on her sleeve, (and) she really is a performer.'

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes hit the theaters on November 17.
