Katie Couric posted a barefaced photo of herself in an effort to help other 'sensitive skin sufferers.'
The journalist, who attended a special screening of The Boys in the Boat with director George Clooney in New York City on Wednesday, opened up about a medical condition she has on Instagram the following day.
The 66-year-old former CBS News anchor shared a closeup of herself, focusing on an uncomfortable skin problem.
The snap showed the television personality with a red and swollen eye.
'I’ve had eczema ever since I was a little girl, and as I've gotten older, it's started to flare up again,' she revealed, adding, 'I also deal with allergic contact dermatitis.
'Eczema is a skin condition that causes dry and itchy patches of skin,' according to the Cleveland Clinic.

The condition is not contagious, but can flare up if a sufferer comes in contact with an irritant or an allergen.
Contact Dermatitis happens when the skin comes in touch with something a person is allergic to, including soap, cosmetics, fragrances, jewelry, and poison ivy.
The Peabody Award winner who penned, 'I can’t believe I let my team post this picture. Good Lord' also referred her followers to tips from Dr Cheryl Lee Eberting, whom she turned to for help.
She shared some of the physician's tips for treating the irritating and sometimes painful condition in Katie Couric Media article.
In the conversation with the doctor, Couric said her eczema gets worse in the winter. The Dr Eberting explained that 'In the winter, the air becomes drier and so your skin becomes drier.'
'It’s important to moisturize with products that augment your skin barrier by replacing barrier lipids' which she said help the skin hold onto water.
Eberting has created a line of products she recommends to patients with sensitive skin.
Many of Couric's fans who are also eczema sufferers chimed in with their own recommendations, including dietary changes.

The former CBS News anchor told her followers, 'By the way this cleared up by the time I had my date with George. It just flairs up a lot and it’s so annoying! ❤️'
'Hate to tell you but cutting out gluten and dairy resolved my lifelong eczema,' one fan wrote of her experience.
'That is gut related not just sensitive skin,' penned another.
In the comments, the reporter assured her fans her recent outbreak was under control.
'By the way this cleared up by the time I had my date with George. It just flairs up a lot and it’s so annoying! ❤️' she said.
