Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign dropped a devastating new ad on Wednesday that featured a woman who became pregnant at age 12 after being raped by her stepfather.

The one-minute spot titled ‘Monster’ comes as the Democratic presidential nominee has put the overturning of Roe v Wade and access to abortion front and center in her campaign for the White House.

The ad is narrated by 22-year-old Hadley Duvall from Kentucky who has been sharing her brutal story while publicly advocating for abortion rights.

‘I was five years old when my stepfather abused me for the first time. I just felt like I was alone on a planet with a monster,’ Duvall says.

'I was twelve when he impregnated me,' she can be heard saying as video shows a close up on Duvall's face.

The ad also features images of Duvall when she was younger, wearing braces in one photo and a cheer uniform in another.

'I just remember thinking I have to get out of my skin,' Duvall says. 'I can't be me right now. This can't be it. I didn't know what to do. I was a child. I didn't know what it meant to be pregnant at all.'

'But I had options,' Duvall says directly to the camera.

'Because Donald Trump overturned Roe v. Wade, girls and women all over the country have lost the right to choose, even for rape or incest,' she adds.

'Donald Trump did this. He took away our freedom,' she finished on camera.

The song playing behind the ad is by singer Billie Eilish, who endorsed Harris for president on Tuesday.

Abortion rights and the overturning for Roe v Wade has been a galvanizing issue for Democrats and a top issue in the 2024 election.

Harris has called for enshrining abortion protections that were once ensured by Roe before the landmark 1973 decision was overturned by the Supreme Court in 2022.

Democrats have accused Trump of being responsible for overturning Roe with the Dobbs decision since he nominated three of the six conservative justices who decided the case.

The ex-president has praised the justices on the court who overturned Roe and has insisted he has no regrets.

Trump now says the issue of abortion should be left to states and he supports exceptions for rape and incest. But he refused during the recent presidential debate to say whether he would sign a national abortion ban.

The GOP presidential nominee has also said he would vote against Florida's ballot measure that would enshrine abortion rights in the state's constitution and end the six week abortion ban in his home state.

Harris has slammed Trump for nominating three of the six Supreme Court justices who helped overturn Roe v Wade in 2022. Trump has praised their move and now claims abortion access should be left the states after previously signaling an openness to a national ban

Republicans have tried to turn the table on Democrats accusing them of being extreme. But when the vice president speaks about protecting abortion access on the campaign trail it often receives some of the biggest applause at her events.

The overturning of Roe energized Democrats and Independents in the 2022 midterms and helped stave off the so-called Republican red wave.

Duvall's new ad for the Harris campaign is one of several times she has publicly advocated for Democrats ahead of the 2024 election.

Recently, she joined fellow women who addressed abortion rights at the Democratic National Convention.

In a dramatic moment, Duvall spoke about being raped by her stepfather on the stage of the convention in Chicago before thousands of people in the arena and millions watching on TV before going directly after Trump on the issue.

'He calls it a beautiful thing. What is so beautiful about a child having to carry her parent's child?' she said. 'There are other survivors out there who have no options.'

People in the audience audibly gasped and became emotional during her remarks.

More recently, Duvall has joined the Harris campaign for its 'Fight for Reproductive Freedom' buss tour for a stop in Pennsylvania.

Before his exit from the race, she was also featured sharing her story in a campaign ad for President Biden. She first shared her story publicly back in 2023 after an abortion ban went into effect in her home state of Kentucky.
