DailyMail.com has contacted the Philadelphia Police Department for comment.

The woman, who was dressed in a black sweatshirt, shot the seven-month-old baby shortly before 6pm Thursday on Meridian Street in the Holmesburg neighborhood.

'F**k your baby, b**ch,' the woman had shouted after the mother screamed 'my baby,' CCTV footage shows.

'We’re very lucky that 7-month-old boy is in stable condition,' Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

The surveillance footage shows the woman slowly walking up to the couple on the side before raising her gun just feet away from the mother.

The child's father takes off sprinting after the first shot was fired. She fires a second shot toward the father, before turning toward the mother and firing one more, then leaving.

When police arrived at the scene, neither parent was there and the child had been rushed to Nazareth Hospital by a neighbor.

'When I found out the baby was seven months and both parents said they have warrants. They got out of the car and I took the baby,' he told NBC Philadelphia

Both parents fled the scene after the shooting and a neighbor brought the baby to the hospital for treatment. The baby's father was later detained by police and both parents were questioned

'I just felt like I had to protect this child. It was overwhelming. It was scary. This person came up and didn't care with no remorse and just fired and walked away like nothing happened.'

The baby was later transferred to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

Neither parent was injured, and it is believed both left the scene due to having warrants out for their assets.

The family of three was not from the Holmesburg area and police do not know why they were there.

The baby's father was later detained by police and both parents were questioned.

The motive for the shooting is unknown.
