Married Dem lawmaker accused of groping colleague releases her VERY thirsty texts about their trysts

3 weeks ago 4

Screenshots of texts between a woman accusing a married Democrat of sexual assault and her friend have seemingly cast doubt on her claims.

The development comes from newly filed court documents in the sex assault lawsuit against 47-year-old Nathan Fletcher, who served as chair on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors from 2021 to 2023.

His accuser, former Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) public relations specialist Grecia Figueroa, 36, sued him in San Diego Superior Court for sexual assault, harassment and battery in March 2023, claiming he groped and kissed her.

Texts included in the documents filed by Fletcher's lawyers instead show their interactions in a different light, referring to a steamy 'make out session' and claims from Figueroa that she was 'f****n in love.'

Another appeared to show the city staffer's intent to wreck Fletcher's marriage, reading, 'I'll just show him how smart I am and hopefully he will divorce his wife and realize he just met the love of his life.'

newly filed court filings in the sex assault lawsuit against 47-year-old Nathan Fletcher - seen here with wife Lorena Gonzalez - have cast down on his accuser's claims

His accuser, former Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) public relations specialist Grecia Figueroa, 36, sued him in San Diego Superior Court for sexual assault, harassment and battery in March 2023

Sent to Figueroa's friend Danielle Radin after the pair's alleged first encounter on May 12, 2022, Figueroa wrote, 'Brooooo It's happening I'm gonna meet up with him But something casual Like hidden,' the filing revealed.

Radin, a television journalist and self-professed domestic violence counselor, in turn responded,  'GOOD LUCK!!!! LMK how it goes,' the filing showed.

Figueroa, a Peruvian-American who moved to the US when she was 13, replied: 'Omg So if I want to have sex with this man … I can.'

This came after Fletcher - then the chair of the MTS Board - 'convinced' her to visit him at his hotel and led her to a stairwell where he confessed he had a crush on her before propositioning 'a few drinks', her original complaint claimed.

Figueroa initially said she was 'shocked and confused' and 'powerless' by the politician's advances, due to his position.

She also said Fletcher, who has been wed to his second wife Lorena Gonzalez since 2017,  made advances toward the end of the evening, 'put[ting] his hands on her and kissed her,' the complaint said.

Radin then texted back, 'Well, yeah I could have told you that lol,' Fletcher's filing indicated.

Hour later, while with Fletcher, Figueroa texted back.

The documents contain dozens of texts that indicate the romantic interactions between the pair were consensual

The texts were sent to Figueroa's friend Danielle Radin. The pair are seen here together in 2022

Previously, Radin wrote in a court declaration filed two weeks ago that her communications with Figueroa were solely related to her work as an investigative reporter for CBS Los Angeles and domestic abuse counselor. She has also worked for Fox 5 and NBC 7 in San Diego

'I told him no, no kissing. We are gonna be working with each for another two years at least, we can't go there,' the filing showed

Radin, after hearing Fletcher tried to kiss her, responded 'I thought you guys would kiss haha,' the filing revealed.

Later that night, Figueroa wrote how she held back for three hours before finally kissing Fletcher, telling her friend, 'I feel like I just came out of the wildest dream I could have had, and idk how to feel about it.

'Omg it was great but at the same time it felt sooooo wrong,' she said.

'I have no words,' the filing further showed.

She went on to blame the '3 f***** beers' the two drank before the interaction, while confirming to her friend, 'We made out.'

Other texts detail a supposed second encounter with the transit boss, which occurred in June of that year.

At the time, the transit boss allegedly told Figueroa to meet him in a conference room at MTS' San Diego office.

Figueroa, a Peruvian-American who moved to the US when she was 13, claims the politician who ended his senate bid last year because of her lawsuit groped and kissed her.

Once inside,  Fletcher 'put his mouth against hers, and began to grab her breasts through her clothes,' the complaint claimed.

In a text afterward, Figueroa told Radin 'Hahahaa, I just hugged him and congratulated him … and then we moved to the corner of the room, away from the window and kissed.'

'Having a make out session was not in my plans today,' she added. '[B]ut hey..what do I know anymore.'

Radin responded by writing back, 'OMG hahaha … that is like so hot though,' Fletcher's filing showed.

Again, the narrative seen in the correspondence differed greatly from that of Figueroa's complaint, where she wrote she rebuffed Fletcher during the interaction.

She further claimed she told him he 'was not comfortable having this type of encounter with him, especially at MTS headquarters' - something not seen in the filing.

The texts also show discrepancies during a supposed third encounter on December 1, 2022, after which Figueroa sent a text to Radin that day with five 'OMGs'.

Fletcher's lawyer on Friday said the newly unveiled messages 'all but eviscerate Plaintiff's allegations against [his client]', who back in March of last year acknowledged he had participated in inappropriate behavior, and underwent treatment for alcohol abuse and PTSD

They were followed up by her admission that she and Fletcher had 'just had a heavy, heavy make out sesh,' along with the acronym expressing confusion 'Wtf.'

Previously, Radin wrote in a court declaration filed two weeks ago that her communications with Figueroa were solely related to her work as an investigative reporter for CBS Los Angeles and domestic abuse counselor.

'In the course of my investigative work, I uncovered information regarding Mr. Fletcher's conduct that was of significant public interest,' Radin wrote on August 13.

'The severity of the allegations related to sexual misconduct and abuse of power made it imperative for me, as a journalist, to continue monitoring the situation through direct communication with the source herself, Ms. Figueroa.'

It added that 'Any information I may have about Nathan Fletcher would have been obtained solely as a result of my role as a domestic violence counselor or in my capacity as a journalist reporting on related matters.'

Radin previously worked for Fox 5 and NBC 7 in San Diego.

Fletcher's lawyer on Friday said the newly unveiled messages 'all but eviscerate Plaintiff's allegations against [Fletcher]', who back in March of last year acknowledged he had participated in inappropriate behavior, and underwent treatment for alcohol abuse and PTSD related to the time he spent as a Marine.

He also called it quits for his campaign for state senate, all because of Figueroa's lawsuit.

On Tuesday, Fletcher's wife Lorena took a victory lap while touting the texts in her husband's lawyers' new filing, writing on X: 'Things aren’t always as they first appear.

As of writing, the case remains ongoing. Figueroa initially said she was 'shocked and confused' and 'powerless' by the politician's advances, due to his position

'I’m sickened but grateful that truth is finally coming out, slowly.

'Funny how they seemed to also find footage of her that wasn’t her decade-old glamour shot,' she added, referring to her spouse's accuser's recent appearances in court used in an NBC San Diego story reporting on the development.

The case remains ongoing.
