Meet Jordyn Blum, Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl's wife of 21 years as he admits to fathering secret baby daughter

Dave Grohl shocked fans on Tuesday as he admitted to cheating on his wife of 21 years and fathering a secret baby in an incendiary social media post.

The Foo Fighters frontman, 55, who wed second wife Jordyn Blum, 48, in 2003 - revealed he was fighting to save his marriage and relationship with his three eldest daughters as his betrayal went public. 

Grohl and Blum were considered to be one of the showbiz world's strongest couples - and just two months ago were seen looking happier than ever as they attended the Wimbledon tennis championships in London.

Grohl's statement read: 'I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. 

'I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.' 

The pair are parents to Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15 and Ophelia Saint, 10.

The pair first met at the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in West Hollywood, California in 2001  and tied the knot at their LA home on August 2 2003.

Recounting their first meeting in a 2007 GQ interview - and in a chilling premonition - Grohl told Jordyn she was his 'future ex-wife' as they chatted. 

He said: 'Taylor [Hawkins] and I were hanging out at the Sunset Marquis whiskey bar. Taylor was the looker. I mean, girls would send him drinks. Some bombshell comes up and starts talking to Taylor. 

'I was just out of a Tenacious D session. I’ve got Vans trainers on, no socks, dirty shorts and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood. She waved her friend Jordyn over. I was like, “Oh my God. Not a chance!” So I’m just having some drinks and acting like a jackass. 

And by the end of the night I was pissed and I’m staring at her going, “You’re my future ex-wife.” So she gave me her number: ‘Jordyn, your future ex-wife.“ 

'We saw each other a few times. But I realized that this was the flag, the finish line and I’m like, “Oh, wait a minute.” So I backed out.

 Grohl told Elle in 2007 that he stopped calling Blum after a few dates.

He shared: 'After three months, I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, "Oh, I never thought I'd hear from you again."'

Jordyn previously worked as a model and TV producer - working at MTV when she first met Dave.

The rock star, who has often been described as a 'family man,' has spoken about the importance of his family in interviews throughout the years.

In 2007, Grohl told The Guardian, '[My wife] Jordyn and [daughter] Violet are anchors that keep me from completely disappearing.'

Speaking to TIME in 2012, he said his family 'changed everything that I do.'

He added: 'It's changed everything that I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It's inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting.'

While little is publicly known about Blum, People reported she once appeared on the cover of Teen - after being discovered at a supermarket when she was 12.

Blum was reportedly working as a producer at MTV when she met the frontman.

Blum has collaborated with the Foo Fighters several times, including in the band's 2002 video White Limo, where she made an appearance.

She also co-directed the Foo Fighter's 2002 Walking a Line music video.

In a January 2008 interview with GQ, Grohl revealed track Statues on his band's sixth studio album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace was inspired by him and his wife.

He said: 'To me there's nothing more beautiful than seeing the headstones of a husband and wife side by side in a graveyard.'

Ballad Burn Away was also penned with Jordyn in mind with Grohl saying: 'I was in love with my future wife and had some romantic f*****g prom ballad. Ugh! We'd never play that f*****g s**t live.

During an August 2018 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Grohl revealed that Blum was rushed to the hospital with appendicitis.

He said: 'It's true. I got a text from her, I don't really feel so good. Then I walk offstage after it was done and she's like, "I'm on my way to the hospital to get my appendix out."'

'I ran down there, and got there in time. She's great.'

Grohl divorced his first wife Jennifer Leigh Youngblood in 1997 after admitting to cheating following a three year marriage.
