The Carolina Panthers are valued by Forbes at $4.1 billion and the team currently has a $141 million player payroll for the 2023 season, so it could surprise some to see that their ticket prices have plummeted to just 45 cents.
Then again, anyone who has seen the 1-12 Panthers failing to keep pace in the NFL's worst division might see those tickets as being overpriced.
Whatever the case, tickets for Sunday's Panthers game in Charlotte against the visiting Atlanta Falcons have bottomed out on the secondary market, with some going for as little as $0.45. Meanwhile, Ticketmaster's prices remain considerably more expensive, with prices starting at $56.
Curiously the plunge in ticket prices comes as the team plans to unveil 'express entry' feature, in which some ticket holders are granted expedited admission into the stadium with the use of facial recognition technology.
The aim is to reduce long lines, but with Carolina struggling to sell out amid their dismal season, that shouldn't be much of a problem.
Besides, if you're Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young, you may not want many people watching you at the moment.

Young turned in yet another dud on Sunday, completing just 13 of 36 passes for 137 yards as the Panthers fell to the New Orleans Saints, 28-6, while Carolina's offense failed to reach the end zone for the third time this season.
In 12 starts, Young has yet to surpass 250 yards passing and he has just as many interceptions (nine) as touchdown passes. In his past six starts, he's failed to throw for 200 yards, and the breakout game the team has been waiting for simply hasn't come.
But whether or not the losing and the lack of success will leave scars on Young's psyche has to be of concern.
The impact of being sacked 48 times in 12 starts showed up multiple times on Sunday, including when he failed to plant his feet on a deep ball to Jonathan Mingo that should have been an easy touchdown.
'I missed a lot of things,' Young said. 'I thought we played well on the perimeter, we played well up front. I've got to continue to get better.'
The Panthers have already fired first-year head coach Frank Reich, meaning the team will be looking for its seventh head coach since 2019 following this season.
