Princess Sofia of Sweden and her husband Prince Carl Philip have shared a sweet new family photograph to celebrate summertime.

Sharing the image to their official Instagram account, the royal couple wrote when translated to English: 'We wish you a nice summer!'

In the sweet picture, former glamour model Sofia, 39, smiled alongside Carl, 45, and their three children - Prince Alexander, eight, Prince Gabriel, six, and Prince Julian, three.

Sofia put on a summery display in a bright orange top and looked every inch the proud mother as she embraced Gabriel and Julian.

Julian, who has been likened to England's Prince Louis due to his boyish playfulness, stole the limelight in the new photograph with his cheeky pout.

While Julian is three years younger than the Prince and Princess of Wales' six-year-old Prince Louis, he has repeatedly revealed his similarly playful personality.

In June, Julian displayed his cheeky side on as he roamed around a new playground that has been named after the three-year-old royal - and posed for the cameras with his tongue out.

Meanwhile, proud father Carl Philip, who is the only son of King Carl XVII Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, embraced his oldest son, eight-year-old Alexander, in the image.

The father-of-three, who is currently fourth-in-line to the Swedish throne, cut a casual figure in brown shorts and simple white t-shirt for the snap, in line with his children's attire.

It comes after Princess Sofia of Sweden attended the launch of an educational game in Stockholm.

The royal was joined by her 45-year-old husband, Prince Carl Phillip of Sweden, at the launch of the new children's game called, Dexi Ville at Mojang Studios in Stockholm.

The princess, 39, is well known for her glamorous suits and today stepped out in a sleek baby blue blazer and wide legged trousers.

Underneath her oversized blazer and high waisted trousers, she donned a cream blouse and nude pink high heels.

She matched her nude shoes with an envelope clutch bag jewelled with a gold buckle and strap and wore her thick brunette hair down in bouncy voluminous curls.

The glamorous royal finished the look with natural make up including a soft pink lip and lightly bronzed eyes.

She wore several silver rings on her finger and a multicoloured bracelet on her right wrist, that appeared to be made up of a chain of wooden horses threaded together.

Her husband, Prince Carl, matched his wife's effortless look with a navy suit and thick silver watch.

The Swedish video game company, who are the designers of Dexi Ville, are well known for also developing the survival game, Minecraft.

The new edition, Dexi Ville, is designed to encourage learning and particularly reading for young people. By making reading an important element of gameplay, it aims to improve reading fluency and vocabulary in a a fun, enjoyable setting.

Production of the children's game - developed by the Prince Couple's Foundation in collaboration with Minecraft Education - has been supported by software developers Microsoft and Nordea, a universal Nordic bank.

Also showing support for the new invention was Joacim Damgard, the president of Microsoft Western.

In 2019, King Carl XVI Gustaf decided that Princess Sofia's sons, as well as those of Prince Carl Philip's sister Princess Madeline, will not have HRH titles.

Although they will still go by prince and princesses they will not receive taxpayer funds.

At the time of the announcement Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip said it would allow their children to have more freedom when they get older.

When asked by Royal Central if she had ever considered stepping back from royal life, Sofia said: 'No. Not really. I think I have found such a fantastic balance, and I really see it as positive that I have made it through these stormy years.

'It is such a huge advantage, in that we have the opportunity to stand a little in both worlds.'

At the beginning of her tenure in Swedish royal family in 2015, the princess received fairly substantial backlash for some of her prior actions in the media.

On one occasion, the royal modelled topless with only a snake wrapped around her torso. She later took part in a Love Island style reality show before settling down with her now husband, Carl.

Despite the backlash, Sofia came into favour after her work during the Covid pandemic after she took a three-day medical course at Sophiahemmet University College in Stockholm.

She then became an honorary chair member at the university meaning she was qualified to be involved in healthcare.

Many Swedes allowed their minds to be changed after the royal was photographed cleaning and assisting nurses at Sophiahemmet hospital.
