A video of Purdue star Zach Edey has gone viral on social media as it shows the 7-ft-4 center entering a private room with a girl at a college party amid his March Madness success.
According to former MLB pro Bobby Tolan, who won the World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1967, Edey was 'seen in the freshman dorms at DePaul [University]' in Chicago 'after getting belligerently drunk' at a local beer bar 'during the teams layover...'
He then also claimed on X that 'once again the ''POTY'' can't seem to kick the booze during the season,' sharing the hashtags 'Drunk' and 'AA' at the end of his post.
The veracity of Tolan's tweet has yet to be verified.
DailyMail.com has contacted a Purdue Athletics representative for comment.

— Bob Tolan (@BTolan72) April 1, 2024In the viral footage, Edey is seen unlocking a door to a private room while a group of girls are hanging out nearby, as the college basketball star is being filmed at the party.
He then entered the room with the girl he was with after getting through the door, as two other girls nearby had their jaws dropped.
But most people on X reacting to the clip leaped to Edey's defense. Instead, they condemned the unknown person filming the Canadian basketball star at the college party.
'Let the Kid live his life,' one user said. 'He is a college student too!! Just because he is a beast (sic) on the court looks like he is off the court as well!!! I would love to share a beverage with Edey!!!'
'Breaking: Edey is a college student,' someone else shared, while another person pointed out that 'if she's 18 who cares?'
In response to Tolan's post, a different user quipped: 'Just wait until you dig into NBA players!'

— The Hawk 8 (@CardNerd0605) April 1, 2024On Sunday, Edey dominated in Purdue's 72-66 win over Tennessee with a career-high 40 points and 16 rebounds as he made sure the Boilermakers advanced to the Final Four for the first time in 44 years.
Edey shot 13-for-21 from the field and 14-for-22 from the foul line to ensure that top-seeded Purdue (33-4) would make its first Final Four appearance since 1980.
He is now averaging 30.0 points, 16.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game in the NCAA men's tournament.
Edey, who is projected to be a high lottery pick if he declares for the NBA Draft after this season, became the first player to record at least 30 points and 15 rebounds in multiple games in a single NCAA tournament since 1977.
