Kamala Harris' senior advisor has claimed the presidential hopeful is 'too busy' to do media interviews - despite warnings her silence is harming her campaign.

Vice President senior advisor, Keisha Lance Bottoms, was recently questioned by CNN regarding how the VP hasn't been ‘sitting down for regular interviews or fielding questions from the press,’ particularly in comparison to Republican rival, Donald Trump.

Lance Bottoms, the former mayor of Atlanta, explained that Harris has 'done interviews,' adding 'it’s that she’s a very busy person. She’s the vice president as well as a candidate.'

Harris' appears to be copying Joe Biden's playbook in letting Donald Trump speak in the hopes his often-controversial outbursts will deter undecided voters.

But even liberal outlets have warned that Harris' unwillingness to be questioned on policies and plans is harming her among those same voters.

Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, have done a combined 15 interviews since last month, while Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, have sat for a combined 55, Fox News reports.

Harris has yet to hold a formal press conference since becoming the Democratic nominee - while her GOP opponent has held several in recent weeks.

Another spokesperson for the Harris campaign, Ian Sams, spoke out in defense of his candidate: ‘[Harris] is going where people get their news and in every setting she’s taking questions - often tough ones - about her plans and agenda.’

Various news outlets have been calling out Harris and Walz for dodging the media with onlookers claiming she has been more isolating in the first few months of her campaign than President Biden was in the last of his.

Some Democrats have openly called on the ticket to better showcase its candidates. Many, including liberal media outlets, have warned the presidential-hopeful that her lack of clarity on policy positions is hurting her chances against her GOP challenger.

Axios reported: ‘The Harris-Walz media strategy: Hide from the press'

Harris's lack of media appearances has only fueled her opponent, who called her 'media strategy' out in a Fox News feature on Wednesday.

‘The interesting thing is she doesn’t do interviews. You would not see her come on to the show, I can tell you right now. She doesn’t like doing interviews,’ Trump said.

A New York Times/Siena poll revealed 31 percent of those surveyed said they felt they needed to learn more about Harris - while only 12 percent said the same about Trump.

The Harris campaign has promised more appearances on local and national outlets in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile,  Trump has carried out regular, lengthy interviews with a wide variety of outlets.

He's a frequent guest on Fox News, but also subjects himself to hostile questions from other outlets at press conferences.
