Rob McElhenney was a special guest on the latest episode of New Heights, revealing to Jason and Travis Kelce that his wife Kaitlin Olson was the mystery bidder who forced him to pay $100,000 for a vintage Philadelphia Eagles jacket.
The iconic 1990s Eagles letterman jacket was made famous by Princess Diana. A signed version - autographed by Jason's wife Kylie Kelce - went up for auction, eventually fetching $100,000 for the Eagles Autism Foundation.
On Wednesday's show, the brothers revealed that the top bidder was McElhenney, the creator of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' and co-owner of Wrexham AFC.
The actor had been documenting his bidding war on social media over recent weeks. However it turned out he was competing against someone very close to home.
'I'll start from the beginning,' he explained. 'I was just on X and I saw that the jacket was up for auction and it was a great foundation, something we believe in and love and have a lot of connections to. And I really love the jacket - I thought it was beautiful.

Rob McElhenney won the auction, raising $100,000 for the Eagles Autism Foundation
'I thought: "It's a great cause, a great jacket, put me in for $10,000." Then I think within a couple of days, somebody came in for $20,000. I thought: "Wow, all right, now we're getting serious..."
'I love you guys, I love the jacket, I love the Eagles. I put in for $25,000 and thought: "That's a good donation, that will get it done."
But soon somebody had put $30,000 on the table and the actor feared he might be being played by Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie.
'Now it feels personal,' McElhenney said. 'I put in $35,000 in and somebody goes in immediately and puts in for $50,000. Now I'm thinking it might be Jeffrey Lurie who caught wind of this and was like: "I'm just going to drive this price up as much as I can".'
With McElhenney 'all-in', the auction website soon crashed.
'They were having issues because I was smashing the button as hard as I could because I couldn't believe somebody was immediately jumping on every time I bid,' the 46-year-old joked.
He had decided on a final bid of $62,000 to honor Jason Kelce: 'I thought that was a number that would resonate in the hearts and minds of birds fans all over the world.'
But the Hollywood star was unaware his wife Kaitlin Olson was secretly bidding against him
The couple were guests on the latest episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce
But then he received a text message from somebody he knew.
'I've been the one bidding against you bozo,' it read. McElhenney continued: 'It did not even cross my mind that this was a possibility: it turned out I live with this person.'
That was the cue for Olson to join the podcast. 'This moron. We live in the same house, this is a foundation that's important to both of us, the jacket looks great on your wife, it's clearly for women, I want it, he mentions nothing about it, i'm like: "What are you doing?"' she said.
'Also... Hi! We share a bank account, maybe just fill me in... I find out on X how much he's bidding and from Jason who says he's crashing the site. I was like: "No, no, no i'll crash the site."
McElhenney said the revelation 'blew his mind' but he did have the last laugh. After the couple devised a plan to end their war on $87,000 - because, as Olson put it: 'We're all on the Travis Kelce train these days - McElhenney took the winning bid into six figures.
