Selling Sunset's Alanna Gold breaks silence after being slammed by famous western town for false claims she owns it

1 week ago 2

Selling Sunset newcomer Alanna Gold has been called out by Pioneertown for 'falsely' claiming that she owns the 'entire town' – after she referred to herself as the town's 'sheriff'.

The real estate agent, 32, made her debut on season 8 of the Netflix hit in which she bragged to her costars about owning a 'little Western town' in the High Desert in San Bernardino County, California.

However, Pioneertown has since issued a public statement in which they slammed Alanna for 'belittling' its community with her 'baseless claims' – adding that her stake in the location amounts to less than 1 per cent of its sprawling 640 acres.

DailyMail.com understands she has been reaching out directly to the people of Pioneertown to apologize for embellishing the truth and stressing that she meant no harm.

Posting their statement on the town's official Instagram page, Pioneertown said: 'The baseless claims by Selling Sunset's Alanna Gold that she "owns Pioneertown" undermines 78 years of internationally celebrated film, arts and cultural history.

The people of Pioneertown slammed Alanna's 'baseless claims' adding that it 'undermines 78 years of internationally celebrated film, arts and cultural history'

'These claims belittle generations of artists, neighbors, nature lovers, community members, musicians, small business owners and otherwise magnificent people of Pioneertown.

'Pioneertown is a mile-square census designated community with over 400 residents and is privately owned by more than 100 independent parties.

'Mrs Gold has a small minority non-controlling interest in an entity that owns six of thirty five parcels in the Mane Street area, constituting to less than 1 per cent of Pioneertown's total 640 acres.

'The claim that she owns the "entire town" is verifiably false.'

The statement was signed from the residents of Pioneertown.

Alanna has been sending apology letters to the residents, admitting that she does not own the town and that she simply got carried away talking about the community.

The letter, which has been seen by DailyMail.com, reads: 'I want to reach out to personally say I am so deeply sorry for the confusion I have caused.

'I certainly do not own Pioneertown, I never should have said that, and I apologize for doing so.

'I want you to know that I did not mean any harm, I absolutely love Pioneertown and I simply got too excited talking about it.'

The letter continued: 'My first date with my husband was there and our wedding was at the Soundstage.

'We wanted to become part of the community so we invested in a home and other properties there.

'Again, I am so sorry to the people of Pioneertown, I would never want to disrespect the town's history or any of the people who make it such a wonderful place.'.

Alanna claimed she was 'sheriff' of Pioneertown in episode two when her boss Jason Oppenheim asked her how much he would have to pay to buy the town from her.

Speaking in her confessional, she shared: 'Pioneertown is where my husband and I had one of our first dates and it's where we got married two years ago.

'It was actually once a movie set, and the town is very unique because most sets are a ghost town, but this actually functions as a real-life town and it's still running to this day.'

Pioneertown, an 1880s themed live-in movie set, was founded in 1946 by actor Dick Curtis who wanted to create a living and breathing town to be used for TV and film.

The Cisco Kid, High Noon, and Gunfight at the O.K. Corral are among a wealth of productions that were shot there.

As of today, over 400 citizens reside in the town, which boasts a local art studio, a pottery shop, and a custom leather and saddle shop.

There are also an array of false fronts, including a bank, jail, and saloon.
