This is the shocking moment a woman surprisingly attacks a child before a bystander stepped in to deliver instant retribution.
The stunning video shows the mother casually walking with her daughter on a Brazilian sidewalk as the assailant approaches them in the opposite direction.
In a matter of seconds, the woman extends her arm and smacks the girl in the face.
The mother prepared to charge at the attacker when her daughter appears to think that responding with violence is not the appropriate answers and holds her mother back while the woman swung at the air.

However, a man who witnessed the attack seemed to think that answering with force is the right course of action and bolted toward the woman, kicking her in the mid-section.
The woman immediately falls to the ground and the man tries to kick her three more times, but only connects once.
She then admonishes the man and appears ready to fight him, too, when a female bystander intervenes.
Other onlookers can be seen checking on the well-being of the mother and her daughter.

Social media users sided with the man's decision for coming to the aid of the defenseless mother and child.
'That was appropriate,' one person said.
Another chimed in, 'She got what she deserves.'
One person claimed that the man's response should have been harsher.
'Wasn't good enough if you ask me,' the claimed.
