Simone Biles has revealed her fear of never being able to compete ever again after experiencing 'the twisties' at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The 26-year-old gymnast had a torrid time in Japan, three years ago, withdrawing from several disciplines after initially suffering several mishaps during qualifications.
She also cited mental health reasons for her absence from competition, where the U.S. went on to win the silver medal behind the Russian athletes.
Now, Biles is on the comeback trail, winning her sixth world-all around gold medal at this year's World Championships in Belgium in October, roughly nine prior to the the Paris 2024 Olympics.
'It honestly feels amazing to return to competition, I never thought I would compete again so this is a blessing,' Biles, who's 4ft 8, told People. 'My favorite moment has been competing alongside my WCC teammates.'

Biles returned to competition in August of this year, winning her eighth national all-around title at the U.S. National Championships, before going abroad to showcase her talent.
Biles won four gold medals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
In the summer of 2021, Biles described the feeling of 'the twisties' in an Instagram Q&A, despite critics accusing her of being a 'quitter' and selfishly depriving another athlete of the chance to compete, after going public with her omission from Team U.S.A.'s gymnastics team.
'It's the craziest feeling ever. Not having an inch of control over your body. What's even scarier is since I have no idea where I am in the air, I also have NO idea how I am going to land. Or what I am going to land on. Head/hands/feet back…,' she wrote at the time.
'It's honestly petrifying trying to do a skill but not having your mind & body in sync,' she added. '10/10 do not recommend.'

During her time away from competition, Biles married Green Bay Packers defensive back Jonathan Owens. The couple got hitched earlier this year.
'I've never been so nervous before in my life. [But,] I felt confident walking down the aisle. Seeing Jonathan at the altar was a dream. Our guests were cheering for everyone. I was shocked by the love in the air. The ceremony was so beautiful and dreamy!' Biles recalled to Vogue.
Along with Taylor Swift, she was seen at the Packers' recent upset of the Kansas City Chiefs at Lambeau Field, earlier this month.
