Taylor Swift fans flock to fall festival with a concert and eight-acre tribute to the star (and it's far cheaper than the Eras Tour)

Cruel Summer is almost over and fall preparations are in full swing - and to celebrate the start of Cardigan season, Swifties can now experience a Taylor Swift-inspired maze.

Carol Paul, the owner of Anne Arundel County’s MD Corn Maze in Gambrills, Maryland, went to impressive lengths to create the maze.

The pathways through the corn are shaped like several of the biggest signs and symbols that are associated with the mega popstar.

The eight-acre, Swift-inspired maze, which opened on September 14, features a 300-foot guitar, hands in the shape of a heart, and the numbers 1989, which is the year she was born and the name of her album.

It also features the number 13, which is famously her favorite number, some musical notes, and two Polaroid pictures.

In addition, the words 'MD Corn Maze Taylor's Version' are written on top.

Carol told WTOP News recently that her youngest son pitched the idea to her because his wife was a huge fan of the popstar.

'I started thinking, "My daughter-in-law would probably leave my son for Taylor Swift,"' Carol joked.

'I mean, she loves Taylor Swift, and then I thought, "That’s who picks where to go on the weekends — the moms." The girls pick where date night is.'

The maze master added that parents were always looking for activities to do with their kids, so why not add in some fun for them.

'I was like, "Huh, that’s not a bad idea. Maybe we should do Taylor Swift." So we kind of went with it,' she shared.

The MD Corn Maze has a different theme every year for its fall festival.

To achieve the Taylor-inspired maze, Carol and her husband, who have run the maze since 2006, mocked up a design and then sent it to The MAiZE, a maze-building company, who helped finalize the plan.

The Maryland Corn Maze is open on weekends from September 14 through November 3, and on select weekdays. Tickets are currently $17.95, as per the website

In June, Carol's husband planted the corn and when it reached about two inches high - which takes about a week or two - they used GPS coordinates and spray paints to map out the maze.

'We… weed kill the paths so that it comes out in the shape we want,' Carol added.

'We weed kill the paths continuously over and over again until the foot traffic comes — the guest — and they keep it down themselves.'

A Taylor Swift tribute concert is planned for October 2, with tickets on sale for $22.

It's not the first time a maze has been cut in Taylor's honor. Back in 2013, after Taylor purchased a home in the state, a Rhode Island farmer decided to welcome her by cutting the words 'Welcome Taylor' into a corn maze.

The farmer, Richard Manfredi, heard about the pop singer’s purchase of her $17.75 million seaside vacation home in Westerly and mowed the large message, as well as a guitar, into the eight-acre field.
