Taylor Swift fans set social media alight after she took to Instagram to endorse Kamala Harris following the presidential debate on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old pop superstar branded herself a 'childless cat lady' — a reference to widely criticized remarks from Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump's running mate JD Vance — which inspired numerous social media users to get behind her.

'Childless cat ladies unite!' wrote one user on X (formerly Twitter) in response to Swift's surprise endorsement.

To underscore the jab, she posed with her fluffy Ragdoll cat Benjamin Button.

Her social media post garnered praise from fans after some Swifties took Taylor to task for cozying up to her friend Brittany Mahomes, despite her support for Donald Trump.

Swift's followers on social media shared their support in the wake of the endorsement, with several people saying they hoped it would push Harris over the finish line; Harris is pictured with her husband Doug Emhoff at a watch party after the debate on Tuesday

After noting that she had watched Tuesday night's debate between Harris and Trump, she explained that she was publicly endorsing Harris to clarify her position after AI-generated images that falsely claimed she had endorsed Trump were spread across the internet.

'I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,' she declared.

Swift added that she was supporting Harris 'because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,' and she praised her runningmate Walz for 'standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.'

Although Taylor's post seemed to be a hit with her fans, it was also well received by fellow celebrities on Instagram who rushed to give it a 'like.'

Among the stars giving Swift's post a thumbs up were Jennifer Aniston, Blake Lively, Demi Lovato, Mindy Kaling, Ashley Tisdale, Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend, Lupita Nyong'o, Molly Sims, Kristin Davis and Andy Cohen.

Oprah liked the post, as did Swift's pals Selena Gomez, Suki Waterhouse and Karlie Kloss.

Other stars sharing their approval included Christie Brinkley, Olivia Wilde, Lili Reinhart, Jennifer Garner, Michelle Pfeiffer, Lady Gaga, Kerry Washington, Mandy Moore, Rachel Zegler, Ellen DeGeneres, Quinta Brunson, Charli XCX, Aubrey Plaza, Lisa Rinna, Katie Holmes and Maren Morris.

Several Swifties who reacted positively to the pop star's endorsement were of the opinion that it was the final push Harris needed to push her over the finish line.
