Team USA gold medalist Ryan Crouser shows off simple trick that explains why he won shot put gold at 2024 Olympics

Ryan Crouser is the first athlete in Olympics history to win the shot put at three straight events. 

Domination in Rio, Tokyo, and Paris has given Crouser a distinct advantage built into his hands. 

Crouser showed off his hands on TODAY to show how much bigger his right hand is, than his left. 

Crouser's right hand is his money-maker, as that is the one that tosses the shot put into the field. 

The former Texas thrower also showed show strong his individual fingers are, as his hand will not bend beyond going straight up in the air. 

Crouser is 6-foot-7 and weighs 320 pounds, making his right hand humungous compared to most humans. 

'It just takes a beating,' Crouser said of his hand. 'Push on the fingertips. It just doesn’t move. So 16 pounds going almost 40 miles an hour off the fingertips, you get strong fingertips.'

Crouser is only 31, meaning another Olympics and a possible four-peat are not out of the question. 

'That would be the dream as an Olympian to retire at Olympics on home soil,' Crouser said. 'For me it would be the fourth. That would be a dream come true, so I'm trying to hang on until then.'

At 35, Crouser would be competing at the Los Angeles games a dozen years after his first Olympic gold.
