Terrifying moment elderly couple bounce off a buoy and crash speedboat into busy beach after driver's foot slipped

An elderly couple crashed a speedboat into a beach after the driver's foot slipped when he hit a wave. 

Idyllic scenes at a picturesque California beach are interrupted when a speedboat comes zooming into view in a video captured by an onlooker.  

The boat, piloted by an elderly man with a woman sat on the passenger side, bounces off a buoy before colliding with the shoreline bringing the vessel to an abrupt stop.

People can be heard screaming in the background as they watch the chaotic ordeal unfold - all the while Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-a-Lot blares out of a speaker in the background. 

According to the videographer, who captured the footage in California on Sunday, the man driving said he hit a wave and his foot had slipped.

Luckily, the couple were not injured.  

The post was captioned: 'Excuse me, sir, you can't park there,' and quickly went viral gaining over 66,000 likes, as well as 4,100 comments.

Social media users were quick to point out how calm and collected the couple appear despite their ordeal.

One said: 'His wife is used to it, didn't even flinch.'
