The disturbing child porn allegations against WACH FOX host Matt Vereen - after he was tracked down by cops through his Gmail account

The WACH FOX Sports anchor arrested for possessing and distributing child pornography bought graphic videos and images of an 11-13 year-old girl and was identified by cops through his Gmail account, according to investigators.  

Matt Vereen, 28, a weekend anchor and sports reporter for the network's affiliate WACH FOX 57 in South Carolina, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. 

Authorities found a photo on his computer of a child in a 'sexually explicit state of nudity,' according to the disturbing arrest warrant. 

In the image, the young girl had her 'legs spread' while her genitals were visible through 'sheer see-through panties.' Her 'right nipple can also be seen through a white see through top,' the warrant added. 

Investigators tracked Vereen down through Gmail records, Apple records, ISP records, and another record that was redacted. 

Another warrant claimed Vereen purchased a one-minute 32-second video of a nude 13-year-old girl standing over a camera, 'exposing her bare breasts' and genital area.

The warrant also said he purchased a one-minute 16-second video of a 13-year-old girl 'standing nude in the bathroom and twerking' while exposing her body. 

Vereen has been working as a sports anchor and reporter for WACH FOX 57 for nearly three years, and previously worked as a sports reporter and anchor for KOLR - a news station in Springfield, Missouri. 

The Instagram-verified journalist frequently documents his entertaining lifestyle as he's been pictured with popular sports stars, celebrities and coaches. 

He's also shared his jet-setting life with his hundreds of followers - as he posted multiple images of him in Europe on vacation in 2023. 

The 28-year-old has also stepped onto the court and field himself - and his most recent Instagram post showed him pose with a golf club and some friends on the green. 

He often shares pictures of him with his family and also with his co-hosts, Matt Dowell and Amanda Poole.  

After his disturbing arrest was reported, WACH FOX 57 said that it 'understands the severity of these allegations,' and noted that Vereen 'has been placed on suspension pending an investigation.'

'As this is a personnel matter, the station will not be commenting further at this time,' a spokesperson for the news station told WIS-TV. 

The Alvin S. Glenn Bond Court has since confirmed that Vereen was released on a $40,000 cash bond.

Under the conditions of the release, Vereen is not allowed to have access to personal internet, social media outside of work and no contact with a minor without adult supervision.

Robert Kirk, the communications director for the South Carolina Attorney General's Office, told DailyMail.com his court date has not been set because it's 'too early' in the investigation. He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
