Thierry Henry correctly predicted Phil Foden's goal against Real Madrid seconds before it had even gone in.

Manchester City and Carlo Ancelotti's men played out an enthralling 3-3 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday.

Phil Foden, having been rested on the weekend against Crystal Palace, continued his fine form with a stunning strike to draw City level at 2-2 before goals by Josko Gvardiol and Federico Valverde.

Henry was on punditry duty for CBS and knew Foden would before the ball was played to him.

He said: 'Berenardo Silva, John Stones, Foden, 2-2,' and fellow pundits Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher screamed after seeing the goal.

Foden continued his remarkable form this season with a stunning strike before limping off

Fans took to social media to heap praise on Henry's knowledge of the game, with one saying: 'Elite ball knowledge from Henry'.

Another said: 'Wow, that's incredible! Thierry Henry has always had an amazing eye for talent and it's no surprise that he saw Phil Foden's goal coming. It just goes to show how experienced players can read the game so well.

A third fan wrote: 'Thierry Henry's prediction highlights his keen understanding of the game and Foden's exceptional talent. It's always impressive when a seasoned player can anticipate moments of brilliance on the field.'

A visibly frustrated Foden went on to limp off with three minutes to go and replaced by Julian Alvarez.

The 22-year-old remains a doubt for City's clash with Luton at the Etihad on Saturday.

'[On Phil] I would like to tell you, but I didn't speak to the doctors. After the press conference, we have a meeting, and we will see,' Pep Guardiola said.
