Trevor Bauer accuser is INDICTED in Arizona for allegedly trying to extort '$3.6m' from ex-MLB star and another man - as pitcher claims she pretended to abort a fraudulent pregnancy as part of her blackmail scheme

An Arizona woman has been indicted by a grand jury in Maricopa County on fraud and extortion charges involving former Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer and another man, although the exact allegations remain unclear at this time.

That woman, Darcy Adanna Esemonu, was indicted last month on allegations that she 'knowingly did obtain a benefit from Marco Bresciant and Trevor Anthony Bauer, by means of fraudulent pretenses, representation, promises, or material omissions,' according to the indictment provided to DailyMail.com. Esemonu faces up to 16 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

Esemonu does not have a criminal attorney listed in this case. DailyMail.com reached out to another attorney who represents Esemonu in her ongoing sexual assault lawsuit against Bauer in Arizona, but has not yet received a response.

She is not the same woman who accused Bauer of sexual assault in 2021, leading to his suspension and subsequent exile from Major League Baseball.

Bauer responded to news of Esemonu's indictment on YouTube by claiming that she demanded $3.6 million from him for allegedly pressuring her to have an abortion – a claim he denies on multiple levels.

Trevor Bauer recorded a YouTube clip for his reaction to Darcy Adanna Esemonu's indictment

'But here's the thing: she never had an abortion, because she was never even pregnant, and that's corroborated by her own medical records,' Bauer said. 'When I refused to pay her the $3.6 million she was asking for, she made up a bogus sexual assault claim and filed a civil suit against me.'

According to Bauer's explanation in his five-minute YouTube clip, the two had one sexual encounter, which he insists was initiated by her.

'We had one plain sexual encounter in December of 2020, nothing that could be considered remotely rough, he said. 'She initiated it, but don't take my word for it, take hers.'

Bauer then proceeds to share purported electronic communications between the two.

'This is a picture and text message she sent me the next morning explaining why she came on to me,' he said. 'And for months afterward, she repeatedly requested to sleep with me again. For example, this text, from January 7, 2021. At one point she even requested a sample of my sperm so she could ''have my child whenever she wanted to'' in the future.'

Throughout his YouTube clip, Bauer continues to link Esemonu's lawsuit to the one previously filed – and dropped – by accuser Lindsey Hill.

'It's hard to keep track but she's made at least four seven-figure demands over the last few years,' he said. 'More than a year after the one time we slept together — and only after Lindsey Hill made up her false allegations — Adanna retained a lawyer.'

Bauer was previously placed on administrative leave and suspended by Major League Baseball following sexual assault claims by Hill, who was sued by the pitcher for defamation and later countersued him over her sexual battery claims.

Bauer was never charged with a crime in this case and has maintained his innocence, while insisting that Hill was scheming to blackmail him.

One alleged text sent from Hill to a friend, which Bauer previously revealed, reads: 'Next victim. Star pitcher for the Dodgers.'

Bauer previously asserted she made the statement about him being her 'next victim' in a text that was sent 'before she ever even met me' and that she was advised to 'take his money.'

While Hill acknowledged that 'victim' was not the right word choice, she claimed she used it in a way in which she was joking, mainly due to her history of dating baseball players. (She has also been linked to San Diego Padres slugger Fernando Tatis Jr.)

'This was exactly what Trevor wanted to do was random pick three or four texts and weave it into a narrative where I just look horrible,' she said on 'Prime Time with Alex Stein.'

Esemonu is also accused of defrauding another man. She faces up to 16 years in jail

'I explained that in my deposition and random things. I like to joke, I'm very sarcastic, sometimes inappropriate. Anyone who knows me would know that.'

Two unidentified women have also accused Bauer of sexual assault, but he dismissed their allegations in Tuesday's YouTube clip.

'They both had lawyers first demand in excess of $3 million dollars to 'not go public,' he said. 'In both cases, only after I refused to pay any sum of money did their lawyers make anonymous claims in the media. They both had the opportunity to file a criminal complaint against me. Neither of them did. They both had the opportunity to file a civil suit against me. Neither of them did. They both had the opportunity to participate in Lindsey Hill's civil suit against me. They could have even done so anonymously. They both refused.'

As for Esemonu, Bauer accuses her of being a fraudster who accuses men of sexual assault for income.

'Her m.o. is clear,' he said. 'Lie to men to get their money. Extort them if she must. When they refuse to pay, stop paying, or stop giving her what she wants, go to the police, accuse them of sexual assault, and file a civil suit against them to retaliate.'

Esemonu's next court date is April 26. Her civil case against Bauer does not currently have another hearing scheduled.
